  1. There are a lot of references in FFXIV, I might say all that here in the Saucer. The Gold Saucer itself is a reference to FFVII. Triple Triad is a card game you play in FFVIII. The music that played is the theme of a special boss fight from FFV, and you can actually fight them in ARR via a certain series of Blue Quests. Upstairs the Saucer, where Chocobo racing is, there are two arcade machines that use the old 1.0 HUD for the Miner and Botanist Gathering class. There may be more, but those are the only ones I know of.

  2. I'm sure this was long before the Fall Guys collab, but definitely worth checking out if you do get to. I was the same way when I first found Golden Saucer it is just so fun & addicting! Loved your reactions to GC! 😄

  3. Gold Saucer has a bunch of rewards using MGP as its currency, so it's worth stalling in there XD

    Triple Triad is fun, but can get crazy esp when the rules vary (Chaos, Fallen Ace, etc)

  4. It's really nice to have the Gold Saucer to go to and relax playing minigames, socializing or just participating in GATEs. There's quite a few other things you might want to try :
    – All the blue + checkmark quests will unlock a new activity;
    – Chocobo Racing is a thing where you have to raise, train and race your own chocobo (not your mount but an actual racing chocobo) which also involves breeding to get higher class chocobos. Races can be done with other players or AI stand ins and are a management of stamina versus speed along with powerups. It,s somewhat like Mario Kart but on feathery birds
    – Another GATE you can get is called "Air Force One" which is pretty much an onrail arcade shooter. It's not that hard actually and a pretty easy 4k.
    – You have some other minor GATEs which are a bit like Leap of Faith but in the Gold Saucer itself.
    – The Chocobo Racing area also has 2 minigames which are pretty much the mining and botanist gathering minigames from 1.0
    – That area also has Lord of Vermillion which is a sort of strategy tower defense game where you use your minions as units (yes, any of your minions)
    – There's also a weekly fashion contest where you're given hints as to what you need to wear (usually specific pieces of gear, often easily obtainable ones on the marketboards or NPC shops) which earns you a hefty 60k MGP if you score 80% or up
    – There's also a mahjong minigame that pretty much plays exactly like real life mahjong. I can't make heads or tails of it but a lot of talented players enjoy it.
    – In the latest patch, they added the crossover event between FFXIV and Fall Guys which is pretty much Fall Guys in FFXIV.
