Predictions for The Melee DPS Job in FFXIV 6.0 Endwalker!

So at the announcement showcase for FFXIV two jobs were announced, a Healer and a Melee DPS, while we know the healer is Sage, we won’t find out about the new Melee DPS until the digital fan fest in may. But until then, let’s make some predictions of what we know!

  1. Can’t believe I didn’t see that before but that first shirt gives me mad Dark Knight Fray Vibes now. Could possibly be a hint that the new melee could be related to dark knight platonically. A Dark figure saying “I’ll be here if you need me”. “Neighborhood “ “Filth and the Fury”. Fury being the deity worshiped in Ishgard. Filth (damned) Fury (saint). Could very well be Templar, or something along those lines. Still that phrase sounds like Fray.

  2. Good job for the suggestion some templar.
But with a gamefriend, we are supposed the next job is Dervish.
As proofs, the drawing and the text of Hindi resembling as Dham, approximate translation an house of holiness.
And the Dervish resembling as Templar but it's live in East and not West. And the next destination is Thavnair.
After, it's possible the Templar live at Ilsabard.
So, I keep these two jobs as probably sure.
And sorry for my english, I speak french ^^

  3. JOKING AROUND ABOUTT NECRO!? They gave the Dark Knight A FUCKIN GREAT SWORD… it BETTER FINALLY be the Scythe "Job"… Also… they ALSO "joked" about Blue Mage… SURE its a fuxckin CHEATING "fun" class… but still… they also joked about that so… yeah… i m hoping for Necro…. although a Rune Knight would be cool aswell… we need a SWORD (not one and a half handed Katana) Job…. (which could also be Berserker but… he wold fit better with TWO swords or… AXES…)… its so painfull… those teases… also again. PLEASE give us the Wolf People as a playable Race <3

Machinist is NOT weilding a PISTOL… its more of a shotgun in my oppinion… but realy… Corsair / Pirate should wield a gun AND a sabre

  4. Templar is not the most likely candidate in my opinion, that doesn't suit maiming at all. I'm guessing it's necro and they were trying to throw us off by talking about it

  5. I’m putting my money on the job being something like Sice from Type-0 given the grim reaper shirt Yoshi had on and Sice using a single handed scythe as a melee weapon where she harnesses enemy hatred and enhances her attacks with it to use against enemies. Also upon doing some research of the “I’ll be here if you need me” quote. Type-0’s main theme when translated has a heavy emphasis on being there for someone when they need you.

  6. Y'all are so fixated on the name necromancer, when if we're talking about Scythe users we already have 1 confirmed, and 1 possibility (I don't see Zenos going away from bladed weapons and doubt he'd pick up a new sword after something as dramatic as breaking his own, so a scythe is a good option for him) that do have some similarities, and going between them names more like Hunter or Stalker or Reaper would fit much better. And assuming Maiming gear gets spread out to more stuff than spikey dragoon gear, and becomes more like medium/lower-end-of-heavy-armor if that translation is fair I could see them doing that. Not to mention seeing somebody with a blunt weapon have "maiming" gear just doesn't sound right.

  7. I'm not to sure about the death comment u said because in genshin impact there is a character coming out named hu tao. She's a person that works in funeral services and uses spiritual power to fight. I'm sticking to necro or some reaper class as a guess. Well see soon.

  8. I feel like there's still a decent possibility of getting a scythe wielder just because so much of the story heavily circles around the cycles of death and rebirth. If not necromancer we still might have a reaper of some kind. Adding a templar would be a bad move on them just because we already have paladin and I can't see anybody getting excited about another class that uses spears. We deserve a unique class that uses it's own type of weapon

  9. To me that thing in the picture doesn't look like a scythe but rather a staff of some sort… unless the blade rests on the ground in which case it could be a scythe but since the picture shows so little it's really impossible to tell what it is

  10. Corsair would make this game perfect. But I’ve already accepted Warrior as the closest thing this game is going to get to a pirate class. Besides, the rogue guild made it clear we are not getting a pirate class when they ask you if you’re a pirate.

  11. 1) your assuming Zenos is going be 2nd job type when a more logical assumption would be Estinen. 2) It a str base job so magic as a main focus is very unlikly. Necro I would say is definitely no it would be int caster, Cor would be dex job so that out, and Templar while a possibility I say not likely. judge or fell knight / dhampir are more the ball park I feel with the clues given.

  12. ok its march 4 and square release a video about the free trial dragoon version and they mention a girl to be a slayer … is that forshadowing the new scyte melee dps job similar to dragoon or is it my imagination?

  13. What if they already revealed the new job in the trailer?

What if Acian was the new job? And the weapon would be the type of symbol masks they have

  14. My thing with people saying that it won't be a reaper/necromancer class because of china is: The game, as you said, already features a necromancer boss and even has undead enemies. I genuinely think it'll be a reaper or necromancer themed class.

I don't really buy into the corsair or templar argument, I'll be honest. Especially if the job's weapon is a possible scythe, seems kinda obvious to me imo.

  15. In a twist they decide to do another split job after all. They share lancer exp with DRG. However, you get a Templar with a lance and a shield(which is shared with PLD, of course.) They take of the jumps and replaced with shield strikes and spells.

    Hope I didn't jinx us…

  16. DW templar is stupid would work with the class design fantasy.
Templar is somehow a "whiter" version of paladin?
Dragoon is in the maim and maul kind of idea gear and a templer is more of a Paladin Knight heavy armor.
    Sword and board or hammer.
Templar is just a bit boring when you allready have paladin in the game

Berserker with big swords or AXE/SWORD dual wield would work better
and in the end its berserker because dungeon boss berserker

  18. Just check out the director of "the filth and the fury" one Mr Julien Temple. ummm Temple like a Templar. Tamplar was last seen in FF tactics advance the same game as Sage. GG EZ.

  19. templar? don't think so the holy knight fantasy is filled by paladin already and it would be pretty lame if they just reuse shit for classes on top of everything else they already reuse XD even though thats basicly what is happening to healers QQzor i main all the healers but it would be nice if they came up with something other than what they already do on the fundamental level. healing via attack damage+buff would be nice.
