I was all excited to finally see The Twelve in 6.1 but the story felt a little odd.
I outline some of my theories in this video!

Thank you so much for watching this video.
My channel is focused on player perspective content, gameplay, theory’s and importantly game lore for Final Fantasy XIV.
As this channel has grown my goals have evolved but ever do they remain the same, the creation of videos that mean to bring a smile to a viewers face or provide them with even one piece of useful information.
I mean to live up to these goals and the time you have taken to watch my content.

I love that this raid has been an absolute lore bomb and we've only just begun!
I believe deryk is the wanderer, but I do hope we fight all the twelve.
"Hey fellow gods, you know what'd be fun? Taunting the Warrior of Light! You know, the fellow whose primary hobby is *deicide!*"
My suspicion is that he is oscion the wanderer and perhaps due to some of the minor diologue about him wandering alone and not liking to be around people and perhaps the monkey is a personification of him like ralgr and his hawk
I'm hoping it's not a situation where one or more of them have gone a stray and we have to put them down
i loved these quests so much, and I'm so curious about what the twelve really are. the popular theory 's been that they're based on the convocation, but i hope its more than just that.
if there is a correlation between the two, i think azemya isn't based on our azem, but venat, since they're both dancers and motherly people. and someone brought up a great theory that nald'thal could be a fusion of emet and hermes since they both act as judges, and since hermes has heavy connections to the underworld in greek myth. plus, there's that scene where fandaniel waxes poetic about money that felt weird, but makes sense if he's connected to the traders.
I do wish the game would let us point out that the architecture is…overtly ancient like. like that was the first thing that caught my attention.
i also ADORE snoegeim!!! as a femroe player its always so good to have them be prominent characters in questlines, and her passion for her work is so endearing.
i disagree, i didn't believe them when they said they'd rule the world but then also said they'd test us in the same breath. i didnt immeadiately know what was happening but it seemed like they were hiding something. and especially fighting Azeyma who just seemed to just be having a good time more than anything. i was relieved when they'd said it was a lie, and i'm more than excited to see the others. i do agree that they shouldve just been honest with us from the start and wed still have gladly fought them, though. i dont think the story is forced at all. just my opinion though.
As for me, I DO trust them when they say they arent summoned beings – that might be my own bias as a lover of mythology tho haha – my theory is that they were made by Hydaelyn using creation magicks.
I like your theory of Deryk, I hadnt thought of that idea. My theory is that hes actually Oschon the Wanderer in disguise, due to the opo opo at his side and especially after seeing his reaction to the thigns we say at the dinner.
Something to note is Azeyma and Nald’Thal’s comment to eachother after mirror Genbu and Suzaku’s conversation post-fight. This combined with their animal forms… well, it’s safe to say they aren’t auspices as we know them. But it’s very clear they’re at least closely tied to.
I think they are old ancients that cant change back to their human form
I don’t think we will be fighting any more of The Twelve after this. Assuming they are indeed The Twelve. I dunno, seems like they need our help for something much more serious. Plus it feels too simple: “The Twelve, 3 raids, 4 bosses per raid? 4×3=12 EZ” So nah, I’m not so sure about all these bosses being the twelve. /shrug /doubt
What if something happened to the other 8 and they were testing us to see if we are capable of saving them?
Awesome video – Can you hit me up on twitter just followed you today and wanted to talk about something community related with you- to keep from dropping another channel name in your comments, the account resembles E***A****
your recap of the storyline at the start of the vid was very entertaining to hear! I agree that it definitely felt too early to reveal that the gods we meet were acting in the beginning and it certainly made the questline feel strange so far… it probably will make sense and feel less forced in the end, but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s very ¿? for now.
how and why we’ll end up fighting the other gods was also a worry of mine that I’ve pushed back while reading the quests, and for now the only sensible idea relating to that particular matter I have is that the twelve might be beings akin to auspices, and the first four (five? if the theories about deryk being oschon are true) wanted to test how we’d fare against them in order to aid the rest through something similar to aramitama. but idk if that’d be a good scenario, since it’d be too similar to the four lords storyline. we’ll really just have to wait for about 7-8. and then 16 months to find out the truth that’s being cooked up in the devs head. I’m going to bite paper from my desperation for answers.
I'm just glad these gods are finally becoming relevant to the game lol
I had a thought, weird as it was, that they might be Venat's friends in their transformed state. Some who were unwilling or she herself was unwilling to sacrifice so she created this sealed realm for them to exist… as stated their appearance is when the veil weakens due to thinks like the calamities and rejoining so they were never meant to outright interact with the main world. Like Venat they would have been those who saw the new beings as children needing protection and love even if from a realm unseen.
My Theory
1. The Twelve immediately dropped the act because they don't want the WOL to spread the word that The Twelve declared war on Eitherys which won't sit well.
2. I don't like how the dungeon was a side quest but not the main quest. The story should've started at 8.0 after we defeat the Voidsent in 7.0.
3. I wonder if there are other divine beings who have plans for Eitherys.
