In this video I share tips that I learned from my mistakes leveling bard up to 60 so far in Final Fantasy 14. Wow! Bard has been a sleeper job for me and hopefully this video can guide you into giving it a go! I am definitely excited to see how the job and rotation works at the level 80 cap. From singing songs to boost teammates to having awesome AOE resets. FF14 Bard can bring a lot to the table that mastering can lead to some serious AOE damage.

Yo! In the downtime waiting for Endwalker I've been leveling my alt jobs and this really helped (especially the quick nock tip haha, I didn't know that!) The hardest part for me has been keeping my DOTs up with everything else you have to do like managing songs, so your section on that was great as well. Take care, Jay!
Thanks for the 2+ minions AOE tip. Knew the rest, but you made me read the quick knock tooltip and realize the damage was good enough for 2 minions.
Appreciate the tips my man…thank you
I knew most of them, but I'm new to FFXIV, coming over from years of WoW, and appreciate them nonetheless. Subbed, and will be keeping an eye out for your new vids. You might also want to mention the fact that to have access to Wanderer's Minuet, Empyreal Arrow and Iron Jaws, completing Bard Job quests is required to unlock them. I couldn't figure out why I was unable to use them, despite the fact that I thought I'd "learned" them levels ago
Peace…
Sorry but this was not helpful to much don't do this or that; rather than you best build. The best way to show is to show how you found it effective by showing your skill build and use it. And show the way not to use it by the same approach.
So…. you are telling me to pull more? <wink wink> and not tell the healer? I'm a tank…
I nvr paid attention to that cone aspect of quick nock I always thought the aoe was just tiny XD
I never paid enough attention to realize that outside of ogcd's bard's rotation was better to use aoe at 2 instead of 3. o: I do think it's a shame that bard's dmg potential for aoe tho is locked behind the somewhat rng factor of whether or not you're in your mages ballad part of your cycle or not.
Thanks for the tips and they really helped. Normally I play a healer, and was wanting to try my hand at dps.
Warden's Paean removes debuffs. If it doesn't remove a debuff, it will grant you immunity to a debuff. Enabling you or a party member to ignore certain mechanics.
Be sure to use the Nature's Minne on a party member, preferably the tank whenever he's taking damage. Whomever gets that buff gets 20% extra healing from any healing action. More healing power = less healing you gotta do = more time to attack = faster clears.
It's best to not save Troubadour for ONLY the boss. 10% less damage taken during big pulls would be great to have. But most don't think about that and save Troubadour for some "big hit" that's never going to kill you on its own.
It's makes a world of difference if instead of using it on tankbusters and raid wides, you use Troubadour during mechanics players have to do but might (and most likely) fail to do. Those are the deadlier traps you gotta save it for.
Thanks for the tips dude. I was wondering when you are in a dungeon do you play your songs for the trash mobs or do you save the songs for the bosses? I go back and forth with it and I’m not sure if I should be playing songs nonstop throughout the dungeon or just at boss encounters.
Maybe this is obvious idk, but the moment a fight is over cast Peloton for faster party move speed, saves a ton of time. It has a side effect of letting you know if you're truly out of combat, since some fights have waves so it can be a good indicator. Also if you're running back from a fight, stick with the people in the back to catch them up to the main party. You're only as fast as your slowest after all!
Thank you very much for the tips!
