  1. Hi Zepla! You're the one who convinced me to play to game (although i just stated playing it this week because it took quite a while for the free trial to become available again and i was too busy ahah). I really like the fact that the story is really good (even the class and side quests). The main thing that keeps me from playing or talking to others is not only because i enjoy playing solo the best, but because i am a ⚜️quebecer⚜️ and i don't really feel like being insulted and to be treated like shite be xenophobics assholes (i just need to say that i'm from Québec for that to happen). I wish you luck on you journey to France😊

  2. A few days ago, I tried out the Duty Support thing for some low level dungeons, and I found something interesting. It took forever.
I was a bit worried that adding Duty Support by default for ARR story duties would harm the social aspect, but upon further reflection, I think it's a good addition.
It's still faster to do it with real people, and duty support doesn't include optional dungeons, so when leveling new classes with dungeons, it'll still be advantageous to go with players. Though, there's also another factor. If you're on a DPS, and you see that the queue is 20 minutes, you might just choose to do it faster overall with the NPCs, which will lessen the queue for other DPSes.
Also, not sure how big this is, but it might help new healers and tanks overcome role anxiety. I personally only had anxiety for the harder content as you don't need to learn some of the more advanced techs until Extreme or Savage content.

  3. I am so happy that FF14 has this much solo content, and that they are only going to continue adding more.
The command missions and TRUST system were two of the biggest pulls that made me switch from WoW (after 15 years).

IMO, social interaction in an MMO should be optional, not mandatory, for progression.
People who prefer to do solo gaming shouldn't be punished by having to stick to low exp questing while others can run things in group dungeons.
The FF devs understand what makes gaming fun for everyone – I'm excited for what's coming.

  4. "I've played every mainline(and most non numbered) FF game but the moms" that was literally me. my reason though, was because I played RuneScape and ragnarok, and knew I wouldn't be able to be active duty and play an mm cuz I would get distracted lmao

  5. Honestly I came to this game on a whim because it was on sale on steam on christmas day that i spent alone due to family issues and covid I got it for $10 shadowbringers included and 1 free month of gametime.

my friends were trying to get me to play it for ages so why not and now i have over 6000 hours logged since december 25th 2020.

I love this game so much and I remember my first ever look at it and i said it looked terrible and a really bad mmo it was when titan extreme just came out had I of known it was the same game as back then though I probably never would of bought it.

  6. they should make soloable min il savage trusts, that don't yield rewards, so that people can practice/learn mechanics by themselves before having to commit to a static, or so that they'll be prepared to contribute

  7. I love solo playing. I was really scared of encountering people's madness during dungeons on the msq, because wow ptsd and severe social anxiety, especially as a main healer. I ended endwalker msq recently and oh boi, I haven't use the chat once and I got a great time. I'm soloing every thing I want to now, even though I'm not interested on hard/extreme/savage raids/trials or pvp I'm having lots of fun. The only social interaction I have is with my best friend who is a free trial, and we literally just sat somewhere and chat or g-pose, this certainly is my favorite part of spending time on xiv.

  8. I'm just happy that when the islands come the price of those onions needed for Chocobo leveling should plummet on the market board. Edit: Hope the best for you/bf/pets with France and getting documents settled for the US.

  9. I would actually love solo play… I don't have much time now days to find friends to play, schedule times to play, etc etc etc. But I have played FFXIV, and I'd love to play more. Just can't do the online thing like I used to.

  10. You make some good points here. I do worry though that taking development time away from group content in order to make the game more like a single player game will eventually start to show some diminishment in future group content, in one way or another. IMO, one of the major downfalls of WoW was when they started trying to cater the game to people who didn't like the game in the first place. Maybe it'll be great and future group content will be as good as ever, but I can't help but to be skeptical.

  11. Guys…please dont avoid interacting with other players, I was a solo player myself and let me tell you the experience of socializing in a videogame is actually fun. Even if its just by chat it will make your experience better. Take this as you will, but I dont think anything good comes from not socializing, try your best to comunicate and enjoy FF14

  12. final fantasy 14 isnt magic or anything special its a warcraft rip off its what 11 wasnt. its a mmo and devs dont care if your having fun they just want your 15$. so if the devs know theres anti social even in video games. they will make solo content for more subs. i think when blue mage came out a lot of people spoke about how solo felt so good.

  13. I've always treated MMOs as single-player games with an asterisk. Did it with WoW, moved to FFXIV, continue to do it now. Sure, I do Duty Finder and some easy endgame stuff (no Savage or anything) but I don't really form bonds or anything. Be polite, say hi, offer advice and maybe a joke when it seems appropriate, and focus on my own play to the exclusion of all else, because tunnel vision is my only protection from overstimulation and anxiety attacks.
