  1. I love callouts it allows me to do dungeons and alliance raids without getting carried by team. I know it’s bad for competitions but I’m just tryna not grief my group by standing in the fire

  2. Now, the most complex thing I remember in Vanilla WoW was doing the Jailbreak quest while still having to clear out the prison cells in Onyxia attunement. It is not hard to figure out that someone has to make sure the NPC’s mobs don’t kill him while he tanks it for you. The only hard part was I had bad mana regeneration on my mage so dps was done with a wand for a heavy pack. It seems no one wants to be spatially aware of their own limitations anymore. Damage meters take all the fun of role playing as a certain character class out of the experience. Players don’t need to stroke their own egos by suggesting the damage meter is a way to measure the size of your dick. Being strong is not indicative of sexual prowess either.

  3. 22:38 I loved playing Rift. If Blizzard managed to get the talent trees from Rift into their game, allowing me to say play a Rogue as Ranged/Melee DPS, Support, Tank, and Healer, like it was in Rift, I would strongly consider trying out WoW. Ah I miss playing that game back in the Storm Legion days…

  5. star augur, yeah… and also mythic archimonde with those WA things which were showing arrows and stuff like that. good examples of what things shouldn't exist, an that fights were not very well thought of and were impossible to clear without extra stuff.

  6. I think disabling all addons is the only sustainable way, in the long term. Developers will always have an incentive to abuse any existing APIs they have access to in order to favor the player. I think there are a few ground principles here to consider:
    – it should be possibly to play the game to its fullest extent with a vanilla client
    – if there are improvements needed, it's Blizzard's job to build them so everyone has them equally
    – Blizzard should be able to control what players focus on to give players the correct incentives (give players a focus, they'll optimize for it)
Of course it might be impossible to disable them all outright, but that can be done incrementally, letting blizzard fix the UI where it's needed before disabling. For example, combat addons (i.e. addons that read the logs) could be disabled first.

  7. I once play without addons for a key run its waaaaay harder especially on a high key run, its doable but when key at stakes you really need addons

  8. Miramagia has a chat and separates it into a chat-bubble system that shows text in a bubble that doesn't show up in chat.
Btw, the chat window is on the right, so it is like half the computer screen away from where I would actually notice a change happening in the chat.

  9. yall know they are going to end addons, take the source code of the most popular ones, and copy them wholesale. bethesda already set the precedent with their mod store.

  10. Not sure if he addresses it, but what about Damage meters? I at least like to know how much damage I am doing, so not seeing party damage would be fine too, if the goal is to help eliminate toxicity

  11. The way Trion handled RIFT is like if Blizzard pulled all its WoW staff during the absolute peak of WotLK, put them to work on a Starcraft TV show tie-in MMO, and then abandoned both of them. That game was awesome at launch, and Trion absolutely remorselessly gutted it. WoW's standard of care looks like fuckin' Doom Eternal by comparison.

  12. 0:14 seconds in. Just want to say I do most heroic raids with NO add-ons. I don't even have curse on my computer. I think people just need to pay more attention to what's going on around them and not just their rotation bars, but that's just imo.

  14. You can't Telegraph boss attacks when 99% of your enemies all share old anchient ass models and skeletons having to force in new animations.

This is why WoW is trash. It's been trash. They refuse to make new animations, skeletons and models and just reuse and paint over.

  15. I only started playing WoW in 2020, I think that if they remove addons a lot of new players will just not enjoy raids and dungeons and just quit (just my personal opinion)

  16. Pretty much all add-ons but UI give you an advantage of some sort. Wether its quest helper, combat add-ons, node farming add-ons, rare locating add-ons they all give an advantage. WoW is a perfect example of a game who has had the opportunity for YEARS to implement said add-ons into their game rather than have players DL them from a third party site. IMO add-ons are just an example of the laziness of game developers to listen to their player base and adjust their game according to what people want. Instead they cut every corner they possibly can just to push out new content. In the meantime, allowing add-ons opens up the door for more nefarious intentions from these outside sources.

  17. I don't think they should be banned, although they should be regulated because there are some like weakauras that literally take the difficulty out of the game XD
