This game sort of changed my perspective on character deaths in general. Most can argue, and I did myself, that with the lack of attachment and involvement its hard to care about a character death like Papy or Moenbryda.
But honestly rather than missing who they were, it kind of hurts for who they could have been. Look at how much the characters all grew and changed into Shadowbringers, and Endwalker. For Moenbryda she basically only had a couple patches to be enjoyed. Maybe similarly to Urianger, I wish I could have seen what she may become in the future. For Papy we did lose Louisoix' greatest pupil, and who knows how much help he could have been, how much insight or banter with some of the characters coming up. Depth and growth all together.
Rather than feel for the loss of what was there, I end up feeling the loss of potential and what could have been.
