Not sure if the stats changed since you recorded this or if you just looked at m4s but Dragoon is only below Samurai on M4s. In fact, for "all bosses" 95th percentile rDPS, Samurai is the lowest as of writing this comment. So it seems weird to me that SMN is in gray, 2 tiers below RDM for being the lowest damage caster, doing about 430 less rDPS than RDM at 95th, but Samurai is purple tier despite doing about 330 less rDPS than MNK at 95th, and a tier above DRG and NIN which are currently slightly ahead in damage.
I agree with most of the other rankings though

Not mentioning the useless buff to Rampart on DRk. It buffs self heals, SELF HEALS. So it's great on WAR, good on PLD and GNB, and totally useless on DRK. People keep telling me that TBN is still one of the best mits with a straight face when all the other tanks have seriously upgraded their short cd mits over the years while TBN has not changed or been upgraded in anyway. It has not gotten worse but everyone else has outclassed it.
I love picto but I am so dumb at it in Savage content, we've cleared the tier but I still struggle to play it well. It just has the benefit of me being bad and still out dpsing myself if I was on SMN

Smn is a job to starter players, nothing wrong with that, this game is extremely complicated to new people that never played wow or mmo before…
Astro is supposed to be good ? Then why the astro in my static is doing roughly 30% of the heals and we die to damage here and there >.<
SMN not having a new set of summons was the biggest disappointment among the classes. Everyone expected it to be the case but having only one new summon is such a hard cope to swallow. Its not like we're doing new Class job quests so it doesnt really matter if where we got Shiva, Ramuh and Leviathan, if anything they can also add Odin or Ixion as an OGCD. But nah, they clearly got tired halfway after churning out Viper and Picto.
I really want them to ruin Rphys and make them so bad they aren't even worth bringing for the buff. I think thats the only thing that would get the role any attention.
Also remove all caster Rez and make Summoner great again. Bring back the Dot Mage
If DRK got the missing mana of the 2 lost stacks from BW becoming Del, the issues people have with TBN would be nonexistent.
I really don't understand why TBN has to have penalty associated with it when its no longer the strongest short CD defensive (heck, its considered "spammable" CD for other tanks, but can't even do that for DRK), when other tanks all got superior versions, just because it has shorter CD. Not like its reliable enough to pop, and it would also be a problem if it was reliable to pop (that would indicate it doesn't mit enough damage). When tank gets geared enough, the auto attacks of bosses don't even get to break it, meaning it is reserved for tank busters, but then whats the point of shorter CD? At this point, I would rather have longer CD, on par with other tanks, and buff the shield amount and giving the free Edge stack upon expiry.

Tanks are all completely busted, with the lowest skillfloor in the game. It's more like all of them are meta slave by virtue of just existing, and DRK is purple for being old.
I dont understand why bard is a meta class in all actuality, when I was lvling my bard from 90-100 it felt miserable to play

With drk u both sacrifice your dmg for defense and dont have any reliable selfsustain for fkup moments. They just pushed drk for 100% time off-tank role.
Ive always thought MCH needs a "bore" effect, which thematically would add a weakened point to a target making it take more damage from all sources, i think it suits the job. Sort of like ninjas but not 5% as thatll be to strong.
Maybe 1%damage 1% crit and 1% dh.

As a former smn main, now picto main, what happened to smn just makes me sad. I do not disagree with its placement. Not just because of its dps but the lack of good changes, imo that stupid dragon was a terrible change.
IMO, as a top parsing MCH main, MCH should be lowest DPS in terms of FFLogs… BUT… It should be balanced such that while its lowest at peak (meaning 75th percentile and up, definitely at the 99th percentile), it should as a mostly selfish DPS be above 50th percentile BRD's and DNC's who should be overall lower damage when their party sucks balls. IE the reason to pick MCH should be when you know you're running with a group that has dismal damage, and you're better off just being the primary damage provider, since buffing people who suck is a waste, and you choose DNC when you only have ONE person who can provide decent damage, your dance partner, and you choose BRD when your whole party is pumping.
As it stands now, MCH doesn't have this balance, it is lowest DPS at every percentile, which is bad scaling for what it is. I'm fine with it being lowest at the top, but as I said, they just need to find a way to buff its mid range potential so its peak damage remains roughly the same, but its average damage is substantially higher.
That said, I do think while phys range should be lowest overall too, they need to make it tighter, it should have the least overall damage, but shouldn't be night and day.
Ultimately though, looking at the jobs, I'm less worried about them then I am about say Summoner… Also.. Frankly, BLM needs to be above Picto and if you don't nerf picto you have a LOT of buffing to do because it shouldn't be above melee at all.
I hate the new DRG so much EW DRG was more dynamic and globally more fun not only its not that great DPS wise but under lv80 you are completely useless you have a small burst of 3 nastrond and thats literally it you dont have a fininsher no big hitting attack and your raid buff is good but doesn't make the job better and that slide OMG that slide! who the hell saw DRG and said let's make the job that is only cool because it jump remove it and give them a dash instead

I think you are over focusing on damage contribution for DPS roles, despite you stating the second metric is ease of playing at peak performance and third being what defense options they offer the team. The physical range role has a HUGE advantage in terms of consistency of not dying, being able to flex, and play at optimal levels. Viper for example, is very often the role that causes a wipe due to pressing too many buttons or focusing only on their DPS, whereas I find on Chaos EU at least, physical range is often the most consistent due to lack of casts, ease of use, mobility, etc. And if your melee is getting damage downs several times a pull, they are only superior in terms of statics and skilled players.

I've been playing RDM this tier because it is my main, but PLD was my first love in a tank and it has been good to see it is eating good. My static is still going through the tier, but if there's time, I'd absolutely love to play PLD.
Caster feels super weird on balance if you’re in a team that’s already crunched for damage (double phys range or just not doing well), because RDM is the unquestionable pick for prog every single time, PCT is the unquestionable pick for clear every single time. Like PCT has better mobility, more on demand instacasts in a row, a better/more flexible mit, and it does about 10% more damage than RDM with a much easier rotation. And honestly, with swiftcasts every 40s, healer rezzing capabilities are way up already. Like barring MP concerns, 2 healers could instacast rez a person every 20s through an entire fight.
I don't think rezzes for dps are as strong as you might think, especially on M2S or groups with low dps. When your group has low dps, you might as well wipe since you won't be able to meet the dps requirements. So rezzing isn't as strong this tier because of Body Check mechs that will outright kill the raid if you are not alive and present in that moment.
I would argue that MCH would still be higher than SMN since the raidwide damage mit at low levels considerably helps survive deadly mechs and helps give an easier window to breath, think Rotten Heart or Fusefield.
Meanwhile dps is more important by a long shot since the dps checks are tighter on M2S and M3S than it is on M4S or M1S.
So hopefully they don't do this next tier and make sure that the difficulty doesn't suddenly spike and then drop again going from fight to fight. That should help a lot of classes.
wdym machinist lacks identity? it has a strong identity of being a flashy selfish fast-paced dps. it needs its numbers pumped up, that's all. but that doesn't mean there's lack of identity.
A main… "identity" for Machinist that people don't mention that I think is great is that it has dismantle back these days, so it has two outright party mitigations while the other two physranged have healingbased buffs for their secondary party assists. A lot of raidwides in this tier SLAM so I feel like dismantle should earn MCH back up to at least above SMN, as in my eyes that defensive util is better than BRD's, so it's not entirely outclassed like SMN is right now.
As a DRK main, I'd put it in green, Oblations don't feel like they do anything most of the time, this whole tier has said screw Dark Mind (just invuln) and half the fights barely let you use Missionary effectively.

This is not a very good video. It leads to prejudice among PF groups to force players on certain jobs. All content can be cleared with any job. Even if you put all “low tier jobs” in one group.
Honestly, I'd put DNC below MCH.
In an optimized environment, BRD outperforms DNC. In PF with shitters, MCH outperforms them both.
What niche does DNC fill? Pairing up with a strong DPS for PF?

I think given that the opportunity cost for a machinist is a bard, they're probably fine. Poor summoner though, given who their competition is.
