  1. "FF14 is dying", ROFL i guess im lucky that im still trying to complete endwalker despite having played FF14 for 2 years, there will always be content for me when im spending time by trying to farm glams and try many other things than just grind the MSQ

  2. I think Yoshi's way of going about it fits the way final fantasy has always been handled. Theyve always released games that were supposed to be an experience you couldn't find anywhere else and its not supposed to be stressful

  3. To me, it feels like the game is in a maintenance period for long term health; sacrificing content in the short term to make getting into the game more pleasant with duty support, QoL updates, and the graphics update that is happening in the background. It doesn't feel great to run out of things to do, however, this pain period has to happen at some point in order to keep things running if they truly want this game to last another 10 years. Immediately after the "end of the saga" seems to be the logical time. While it makes for some slowness right now, I'm a mature enough adult to know that if I'm bored I can just go play other games for the interim.

  4. This is a great video Desperius, ignore all of the toxic mega-fanboys who are swarming you to tell you you're wrong for wanting proper CBU3 quality content in the game. This game is worth hundreds of dollars, and we wouldn't be here talking about it if we didn't love it, criticism is the lifeblood of MMOs, don't let the idiotic mob stop you

  5. 1000% these dungeons need rewards, I have begged friends to try the Criterion Dungeons with me but they won't because there are no rewards. People want gear, not everyone wants
a mouse mount or mog with no stats. I don't want to see a hostile Mythic + environment like wow, but FF14 NEEDS good 4 man content with levels of challenge with good rewards worth our time.

As a side note all of us in my gaming circle also balk at the Timer in the Criterion Dungeons since thats part of the toxic wow version of m+.

  6. People who say there's not enough content need to get a life outside the game or just do more types of content. My time is too valuable for meaningless grinding (love the new relics). The game is absolutely massive, how many people complaining have actually completed all the content? If you've completed all you care about between patches, turn off the PC and come back with new stoke for the next release. I do love your suggested solutions Desperius

  7. I never even cleared this current savage tier however, I cleared the previous one. After the first tier, I got to a point where I felt I had my fill of the game honestly. And I’ve been playing actively since Stormblood. The content in the game is honestly just not that interesting to me anymore. I’ve done savages and extremes enough that it’s all just so samey. There’s other content to do, sure, but idk. After 6 years of active play, the game just feels stale. The combat feels less than enjoyable, and I just don’t even feel like playing it anymore. The game may have content drought, but I sure haven’t felt it, since I have uncleared savage to do, criterion savage, ultimates, eureka orthos to clear among other many pieces of content I haven’t completed to the fullest, but I just have no interest or motivation to play or do those things. Wish there was something that got me to love the game again like I did in my first 4 years with it. But idk, even Reaper, a class that literally is tailored toward my aesthetic and interest, couldn’t keep me in love with the game. I think it’s time for a long step away from the game.

  8. Yeah, this shift of "game's dying" is silly. Are content creators forgetting that Yoshida has always said the wax & wane cycle is part of his accepted design and he intentionally wants players to have time to play other games, spend time with family, and do things other than being slaves to an MMO? This has been part of the design philosophy since A Realm Reborn.

  9. Bro this game isn't dying, not by a long shot. Is there a drought? Absolutely. Am I bored as F, also yes. I adored Eureka, I would kill for a continuation of it. Let us go from 60 to 90 with more zones. We need a grinding area that's actually fun.

  10. Its not that the game is dying, just their big issue is not incentivising content return. Give us roulettes on other pvp modes. Give criterions useful rewards, even if its just materia its something. Give more incentive to do the golden saucer. There is so much content thats still fun but a lot just doesnt give players a reason to return to stuff regularly

  11. I honestly believe part of the reason that there feels like a content drought is the extended time between major patches. Before we were getting a major patch like, what, every 125ish days or so. As a result of the time between patches being longer, the content we get with those patches feels less substantial because we have more time to run it over and over again.

  12. Shit title, meh content.
The game is fine. The dev team is working hard, and allocating resources and devs on making the entire game better with dury support ARR dungeon revisions etc.
Why dont you take a break and come back for 7.0?
Oh thats right because youre a "content creator" lmao you made the bed now sleep in it and cry some more.

  13. The amount of sheep quoting the same thing coming out of dev's mouth and licking their boots needs to chill. I felt like contents creator can't even share their ideas to improve the game while having a herd of sheep shuning them down instead of engaging in a constructive argument to provide different point of view and ideas to improve the game. "Best community" btw, 7 heccin years of playing this game and I can tell you the toxicity is here but quite well hidden in another form you just have to play long enough to notice it. xD

While I'm a casu myself and don't have much time to play the game at full length either but has engaged on all form of content here and there, I still find the content we got this expansion very lacking, didn't asked for something super grindy but a bit of grinding won't kill anyone,. This game has become too friendly that is kind of stale, Its literally like a bowl of rice with no seasoning, all we ask is a little bit of salt and soy sauce.

  14. If people are not milking subcribers on Twitch they say the game is dying? People are too used to WoW keeping you in front of a screen for 14h a day to get some progress on the game.

  15. And here I am hoping nothing new comes out after spending a month no lifing my way from heavensward to now halfway of end walker. I need time to level a tank and a dps too.

  16. For me, the problem is that savage raids are extremely boring and "gamey". You just go… do 100% gamey mechanics and just remember what to do. Welp. Still better than horrible crossovers that don't make any sense story-wise. Rotations are too easy, same for tanking and healing.

They should just make MORE story content and stop trying to do any super end game content because they just can't. Almost every MMO have better PvE and PvP content but no other MMO is close to the story content of ff14.

  17. Thankfully the video is not what the title implies. But the title is a bad click bait. We have already enough drama. Please, don't feed it. Asking for better content doesn't necessarily implies making a drama of everything. It's getting tiresome.

  18. Focusing on QoL updates, working on the major updates coming on 7.0, working on the new big plot for the game yet to start… i think they're reasons
But for me, the biggest reason for this feeling of "lack of content" is the increase of duration of the patchs. YoshiP said that this was to have more time to work on patchs and in the content for 7.0, but it clearly makes people feel that they don't have what to do. Shadowbringers had a 3 and a half month patch duration (except the one affected by COVID). Endwalker we're having a 4 and a half month duration. I'm ok with it, but i can see this being the major reason.

With this we get back to what YoshiP said, they don't want people forcing themselves to play this game all the time. Go play other games and come back when you want, to play the new content that they have. I think people could start thinking more about this. You don't need to fully stop XIV if you don't want, i don't do this, but give you time to enjoy some other games while we're having some downtime in XIV.
