  1. I’m sure I’ll reach a point where I wind up leveling BLU and FSH, because there’s nothing more for me. For now I’ve gotta get some dragons and run DRN 100 times…

  2. I've got plenty to do to keep me occupied in-game for a long time even before the patches but can't speak for everyone. Tomorrow I'll have my last job at 80 then I gotta get my crafting/gathering gear up to par. Then more side quests (especially Amaurot. I really want to do those)…..the list goes on and on. Then again I was forced to take off from the game for about a year due to medical issues so I was just wanting to be able to play something….anything and now that I can I'm just appreciating what I have and having fun.

P.S. Thanks for mentioning you need to clean out your bank Brian. I need to do that really bad too. Putting it on my list.

  3. Before I actually watch the video, no. 5.5 is not enough for most Veteran Players until Endwalker. But that's okay. 5.55 also exists, as well as other games both on PC and on the various consoles both new and old.

  4. I have completed 13 relics so far (Augmented Law’s Order). Need 4 more to complete the collection.

5.55 is going to come out with next stage, but I am not looking forward to it.

Just like Eureka, relic is tied behind another content thats going to die, and it makes players like myself to rush through it.

I really hope I don’t get burned out, but I don’t know what the devs will do in 5.55 for relics.

  5. I love FFXIV but I will not be back until after Endwalker releases! I play for the story & do everything else till I am burned out! I will probably finish leveling BM & my crafting! I want all my jobs at max but it burnt me out last time! So I will wait!

  6. I was very sad we got no new Deep Dungeon this expansion. But since I'm still pushing for Lonely Hero in Heaven on High, and 2020 was A THING, I can completely understand why Yoshi-P and crew decided to cut it from the schedule. And we still might get a new one in EW, so there is hope! And hope is all I need to keep going.

  7. Get through everything in 4 weeks for the new expansion? Oh, you CAN do it, I nearly did it when I originally started the game a bit over a year ago. Blitzed through the whole story to 5.1 (which was the current at the time) in 6 weeks. The only thing that prevented me from doing it quicker was deciding I wanted to try out Scholar and Astro (to try the other healing classes, I was maining White Mage), I wanted to try out gathering and crafting. I want to check out the deep dungeons. I want to do all these optional dungeons. And so on. Had I not started to branch away from just the MSQ and my original class pick, I'm sure I'd have finished it all within the first 4 weeks with ease. Only now do I look back and kind of wish I had taken a bit more time in it, but I was having too much fun as it was then, AND I wasn't even sure I was going to subscribe at the time anyway, so I had wanted to get through as much as I could before the 'free' month with buying the game ran out. And considering it was doing that, then sitting two weeks after going "i wanna play more" that got me to sub.. I suppose it wasn't really that bad a thing anyway.

  8. I can say from experience that going ham on a even just one expansion right before a new one drops is a bad idea. I did it with shadowbringers when it first dropped and got burnt out because I'd played for weeks before grinding out stormblood content 😔

  9. As someone who only care about the battle aspect of FFXIV ( dont care about crafting or Housing ) this is not enough but that not a bad thing. I normally just take a break and play other games while waiting for the next expansion.

  10. This is the time frame that my fc starts picking up doing mount / minion / glam farms on top of working on our other side content like sightseeing / etc. I personally think that the spacing between content is perfect. Otherwise I would never get any chance to "catch up" and do other / side content things.

  11. I still have a lot of content to consume. I probably between 0 and 15 hours a week, maybe only 2 hours productive per day, depending on what else is going on in life or if I want to play something else. I'm not a bleeding edge player, and tend to jump around content as I pretty much enjoy all of it.

My goals for the 5.5 (and 5.55) is to get all my jobs to 80 (4 left to go from 50 and I don't pay to skip); I want to finish all the side quests I have left, and before 6.0 launches, I want to redo the entire story again to catch all the information in a big lore binge. So, I have plenty.

If your goal is much more specific, though, and your interests very limited, you aren't going to get that much out of the patch without a carrot to chase. So the lack of Ultimate in this case, has really killed that interest for those players. But, I do see those players enjoying the crap out of other games, and that's been great as a consumer of those creators/streamers. So, for me personally, their "loss" here is pretty much a gain for me.

It is definitely a great patch/time for new players to catch up to the story, though. Definitely never too late to jump in and enjoy the game – there is a lot of content overall to consume.

  12. It will probably take me and my wife the summer to complete the story and catch up. I got an e-mail today for a "Catch Up Potion" and it was their intent to grab newer players straight into ShB and then go back for the rest. With WoW still hemorrhaging players, they will pick up a fair share before going into EW which could essentially stand as a self-contained 2-part series for those who didn't play all the way through yet.

  13. I think it's perfectly acceptable with how many new players there have been to FFXIV over the last year. For people like myself, who are completionist, this gives us an opportunity to continue to catch up on side things we may have missed getting through the MSQ. But, that's just me.

  14. 5.5 Part 2 is end of May – 2 weeks after fanfest. FOr me, there is a ton of stuff I haven't done in 14 and i've been playing religously for like… over 2 years. I have barely leveled any classes, some are halfway to 80, and i only have 4 crafters to 80 as well… I have a bunch of the old mounts but I haven't done any of the ultimate fights and still working on clearing Eden Savage (E10S)…

There are tons of MGP Items I'm missing and I also haven't tried Liah Ghia at all… I honestly have no idea how some players have completed everything… Is the new content with 5.5 enough? No… Is there enough content in 14 people can do already? Oh yea!

Not to mention in-game player created contests and events…

  17. I quit playing for 2 years and came back to finish pretty much all that content in not even 2 weeks. Lol I still have things to do because I don’t have all my class leveled and I have to do relic. But yeah I was extremely disappointed at the lack of content I paid for when I bout the xpac.
