inb4 the stupid story-addicted rats leave their opinionated essays.
Chat at the end there exemplifies the almost insane aversion to "spoilers" by the community. The launch trailer was put out by the publishers, and they deemed that it would add to the anticipation of the game, and not detract from the narrative, and yet people are here crying that any reference to events in the future is a spoiler.
Both the game trailer and launch trailer are such good showcases of the new expansion, and leave you with way more questions and anticipation than answers. It is almost a disservice to warn people not to watch them.
I watched the endwalker trailer when i was still progressing in stormblood, and i can confidently say, there was nothing in that trailer that spoiled anything for me. At that point in time, we didn't really know urianger's face. Matoya was already a character you can only speculate that it was either y'shtola or a young matoya. if you really paid attention in ARR, you might remember G'Raha but redered catboy looks nothing like ingame ARR catboy. And you certainly didn't know what elf dad looked like, or even his existence. The only spoiler was what sharlayan looked like, if you can even call it a spoiler
The whole trailer was a masterclass on misdirection and the community needs to chill out.
oh man this trailer is so good
Twitch chat. LMAO
I'm just going to stick with Nobbel's progress on Youtube.
I think launch trailer spoilers depend on where you draw the line at spoilers. It'll have footage from gameplay and in-game cutscenes, and some dialogue, but it's all out of context. It's up to everyone whether they care about being totally blind or not. Personally I gobble up every official FFXIV trailer, but I avoid movie trailers because I feel like they show you the whole movie.
When it comes to streamers though I don't think there's any big loss if they don't watch it. They sissy know that they're going to jump straight into playing it. The trailer is more for people who have to wait a few months before launch
i would love to see Emet, Hythlodaeus and Venat in the next expansion trailer D:
The trailer narrator is Emet-Selch, no one else.
Nobody can resist the headbanging during the "Triumph" part of Footfalls. Not even Nobbel.
hmmmmmm nougaty secrets in the locked room ……….
you have no idea man …….
no idea…..🤮
I don't care what anyone says about his reactions, I appreciate that every time he's just jamming. Every time.
SHB: WE FALL
EW: FORGE AHEAD
need a nobbelJAM emote
Launch trailers are pretty much like new anime seasons. People who've read ahead know what's in it and consider it a spoiler.
Those who don't just see cool shit and minor/major hints that let them get an idea of where they're headed. Context is lacking unless you're a really big deep diver of lore/speculation etc.
him thinking the Ascians wanted to bring forth the final days in Shadowbringers just shows he has still alot to learn of the story.
Man if launch trailer is spoiler then patch trailer also spoiler lol. My take is, as long as you dont know the context then it wont be a spoiler. Also it will be interesting to see streamer theory or thought after watching the trailer.
One thing you got to give credit is XIV team knows how to make a trailer. The music. The scene and voices. They all match quite well
I kinda feel like Nobbel's chat is why he is missing key things about the story. So much so that it askews his understanding (it seems). The goofiness of his character doesn't help but if he still enjoys it, i guess it isn't to bad. I started watching though because he was lore person from wow. Kinda sucks how much he doesn't catch but i still appreciate the difference in thought. Just wish it was with the actual understanding of whats going on.
Hyur oh Hyur
Man, this is such a great trailer I’ve seen it probably 30 times or more 😂. Past the far edge of fate ring blades dark and light tolling the coming of the end. What a great game.
Y'shtola in the Library with the Black Mage Rod
Clue Eorzea Edition when, square Enix?
The launch trailer is only spoilers in hindsight. Without context, none of it makes sense, it only gives hints of direction. The majority of the story isn't even addressed and what is addressed is impossible to guess on it's meaning.
It's like everyone forgot what it was like to watch the trailer live…
People are idiots saying the launch trailer has spoilers, yoshi hates spoilers like he would make a spoiling trailer.. use ur brain people
I wonder if anyone noticed Y'Shtola about to walk right into that table as she leaves.
Also the person who said, "Technically November is still Fall in Japan." really….. I meant Fall doesn't end until a few days before Christmas.
The year is 2022, and Preach is going to have to explain the lore of an MMO to Nobbel. Who expected to wind up in THIS timeline?
