Anyone can talk about how strong the normal classes are. But only Eorzeon can deep dive this far for the sake of idle curiosity. Do you think we’ll ever get gatherer combos? AoEs??
Unlikely, but watch this journey with me because you’re never going to want to do this yourself!

No chocobos! Chocobos' healing potential is absolutely insane, and the damage is over 10x mine, so it would have seriously skewed the results of how strong a gatherer is.
Thank You for this 😄😄😄 I was lucky to participate in approx. 20 crafters take on a fate boss during novice network Christmas events – surprisingly it actually went down 😆 wouln't happen without the back-up healers resurrecting the fallen though.
Why doesn't this channel have more subscribers already?! – Also nice video, I enjoyed the wacky experiment 🤣
i ALWAYS joked about how my CUL would beat everyone, but little did i knew that i can probably can take only 25lvl mobs… OH BOY i was wrong – this video is somewhat 10/10 xD
u got like and sub from me, keep going! xD
our group is always joking that if our Ninja was untethered, and allowed to run Fisher instead, he'd be unstoppable. and now, we have the video legwork to prove it! great work, thanks xDD
why does he sound inside my brain
how to tell ffxiv is running out of content
Random cat-girl trying to kill a lvl 50 A rank with a pickaxe
Fun fact, DoH/DoL classes actually did have an attack move where they could throw a stone (Aptly named "Stone Throw".) early on in FFXIV during the 1.0 era. I can't remember if you got experience in combat but it was also possible to complete the MSQ up to a certain point where Yoshi-P took over as a DoH/DoL class thanks to a partner NPC you were paired with. So they initially did have plans for even non-combat classes to play the main scenario without ever picking up a weapon but it changed later on when they were rewriting the story for the upcoming Calamity and A Realm Reborn.
1:52 it wasn’t gear confusion. Basically, back in Heavensward, there was a push for all classes to maximize their DPS — tanks, in particular. The philosophy was that you didn’t need the extra HP and defense, that you were better off maximizing your damage
As such, equipping DPS accessories was seen as the meta choice, leading to tanks that were very squishy by comparison. And people got ugly with these schools of thought — I personally witnessed both healers refusing to heal a tank who didn’t have tanking accessories in dungeons, and people who would kick tanks who DID use tanking accessories in dungeons as this meant the dungeon took longer
This culminated in, I believe, 3.4 (though maybe it was not until Stormblood came out), where the accessories added were for the first time class locked, and tanks got nerfed in damage by reducing how much they benefited from strength, both of which got a lot of people upset back then. Though, now with years of hindsight, it definitely was the right call in the end
The gods shiver when a DoL's Limit Break is charged.
There's no good reason, balancing or otherwise, that a pickaxe or a woodcutting axe can't do comparable damage for the level. Especially if you don't get experience for killing things.
I will also continue to be upset that the reaper is not a prestige class for the botanist. It's literally the lore of the reaper that they were harvesters. Soul stones already change your stats.
It would be cool if they added creatures that are harvestable by the gathering classes. Why can a miner not get minerals and ore from a golem or coblyn respectively?
Mining Collectables is hotbar-based gathering
My botanist has been popping off since EW, just put a subweapon in my primary weapon slot, and all the sudden I’m gardening with the power of darkness somehow
thank you for this
At least in the Diadem Gatherers have the most OP attack in the game…the Aether Bazooka.
You cant do dungeons but I think you can do Sea Sky Stone which would you give you an idea for trials/raids and/or how many equally geared DoL/H you would need to do an instance
bless that person trying to give you better gear omg <3 i'm glad someone finally put this to the test lmao
LOL
holy moly this video is awesome
