Final Fantasy XIV is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game for Microsoft Windows personal computers, developed and published by Square Enix in 2010. It is the fourteenth entry in the main Final Fantasy series and the second MMORPG in the series after Final Fantasy XI.

Coming fall 2021, final fantasy XIV Endwalker is the latest expansion to release for inarguably one of the most successful modern day MMORPGs.

  1. I really tried to get into FFXIV. I enjoyed the world, artstyle, music.. but I just couldn´t. I think I would fell in love with the story, IF there was a voice acting. Game that rely on storytelling this much just should have full voice acting like Guild Wars 2 has. But for some reason they voiced only some cutscenes. Don´t get me wrong, I played a lot of old school RPGs where you had to read basically everything, but in this game, it just didn´t click for me.

  2. Always wanted to get into this game but I got bored real fast doing the free trial and looking at streamers/endgame dungeon didn't look interesting to me. Maybe it's just preference.

  3. honestly the free trial is imho better than most f2p mmorpu's because so many ppl pay for the expansions beyond heavensward(specifically shadowbringers), they have the money to offer the base game for free, with essentially no monetization whatsoever( i have been playing the free trial for a few months now and I only found out that there was a cash shop yesterday, just to show you how non-pushed it is lol)

  4. Thanks for the update. Yeah, that game is definitely polarizing. I personally loved it and I only quit because I had nobody to play it otherwise I'd still be playing it. Meanwhile, my ex raid leader in WoW said it was the worst MMORPG he has ever played, so… yeah. Definitely not for everyone.

  6. i might try to stick it our and reach endgame. MMO combat just feels like i'm spending time but getting nothing done. single button spam..over and over again..bit of movement..nothing exciting for leveling

  7. Man people were really speculating the healer will be either an alchemist or geomancer and the ranged magic dps might be the sage, not the other way around. As someone who loves healers, I can't say I'm excited for this class. But for sure I will get back into the game and see what changes they'll make to the classes, unlike WoW where every expansion after Legion was a huge letdown with 0 valid content besides raids and mythic+.
Now we wait for GW2 to open their damn mouth 😀

  8. I tried the game 2 years ago for the first time and I liked it SO much than, that I didn't want to rush End Game, I got into selling a lot of things at the market and I was just level 20 and was collecting and mining all that stuff, I really liked that stuff, there was even catwalks and all nice fantasy events, Its truly Final Fantasy. I must admit that FF14 is a game I would never expect to experience like I did, it was truly amazing, the story, I mean… who whould think the story would be like this? For me all those small things and all the extra things you can do made it a real blast, too bad I got kinda pushed away by real life and than I played other games and others and others, still I want to come back to the game and finish it, thats why when I see such vids I think of jumping back, its an amazing fun game.

  9. Saying that FF14 is a jrpg first and mmo second kinda hits me inn the feels when I stopped playing cause they are removing all the jrpg aspects in the name of making it a pure accesible mainstream mmo. Just be aware that if you enjoy rpg systems at all in your combat they have been stripped away in the name of balance and accessibility. There are more playable jobs aka classes then there are spots in a endgame raid, making balancing complete trash and highly likely that if you find a job(class) you enjoy you will have a uphill struggle of engaging with endgame content unless its "meta", as you will be blocked out from participating from any group that is good enough to actually clear full raids. Welcome to FF14, the most jumbled, streamlined, watered down experience of what it used to be. If you like it fine, story is still good, combat can be fun and its a graphical and musical spectacle. But calling it a jrpg at this point is just factually wrong and hurts my feelings cause thats what it USED to be. Also the community is not even close to as nice or welcoming as it first might seem, be very careful how you behave and who you engage with cause if you make the wrong people mad you can legit be blocked out of entire game functions and server communities region wide, even if you make them mad by accident or mean well/tried to help. Step on eggshells and dont ruff any feathers unless you want to pay for a namechange and appearance change in order to play the game.

  10. I had to quit playing this, as I don't like to play tanks or healers. It's just a nightmare waiting for a dps queue for pretty much anything you want to get done. It wouldn't be so annoying if I didn't have to pay a monthly fee, but this way I feel like I am paying to spend 70% of that time – waiting for a queue. I have finished the story and leveled all my crafters, and I didn't find Savage attractive, so my main bit of fun there was to level new jobs. And that turns into a nightmare because leveling is all about instances, you gain virtually no experience from doing quests or killing mobs. There are few areas where you can solo level but they are pretty much the bane of the game as many would agree.

  11. Started playing XIV at the end of Stormblood. Am yet to stop playing. 3rd year going strong + easy to balance with other games, since there are no really weekly lock outs that prevent me from grinding a mount/glam
