Note that running “steamos-readonly disable” can mess with the stability of steamos so be prepared to have to possibly wipe your steam deck if compatibility issues arise.

This is my guide on how to install Final Fantasy XIV online on a steam deck. I actually don’t have a steam deck…yet (Q2 gang), but I put together the best guide I could with what I believe will be the easiest way to install XIVLauncher on the steam deck and play FFXIV using XIV Launcher from Steam OS.

Commands used:

sudo steamos-readonly disable
sudo pacman -Syu
sudo pacman -S lutris
sudo pacman -S vkd3d
