No WoW can't compete with FF Endwalker. Also New World has generated a lot of hype and scratches an itch for a lot of MMO players and will be interesting how many players play that (I will) So 9.1.5 is definitely way too little and way too late. There is so much fundamentally wrong with the core of SL that this next watch won't even come close to scratching the surface of needed fixes.
The damage to their reputation and the game is done. They would need to change way more than what they probably have planned.
A dying MMO (which is also full of bots) is a self eating decaying mess. People don’t like being in a dying MMO, so they also leave.
Hard to come back from that sadly as I loved WoW. But I’m also mad they let it get this bad through their own faults, the players don’t have the power at the end of the day to make actually game changes.
blizzard was at the wheel.
Where as FF14 has a growing playerbase, happy well treated customers with good moderators to control the possible toxic ones and bots.
They will för sure release it when endealker comes out and sorry to say but this time it will be a mistake blizzard. I am staying in FF14 for endwalker not 9.1.5
People should realize, the world is going back into pandemic panic, and we’re all going to be on house arrest again this fall.
9.1.5. releas date, hmmm… Exactly as New world launch or Battlefield launch? :)))
am I the only person that finds FF14 to have extremely bad AA, sharpening and dull colours? I cant be bruh
No. WoW has not been a good game since TBC. It's been complete fucking shit since the Activision partnership.
FFXIV has better graphics, more classes, better story, better developers, nicer community….no they cant compete 😂😂
WoW will not survive long enough
I've said it before, but the only way I even think about going back for 10.0 is if they fire Ion and everyone except the art team (those poor guys are now carrying way too much), hire some people who actually give a shit about making the game fun for something besides raid logging, and if 10.0 is a back-to-basics expansion that removes borrowed power and other systems that only last for that expansion, and just gives us no nonsense loot for powering up our characters again.
Take all the time wasted on systems that are going to be thrown away in the first patch and put that focus into giving us a really fun leveling experience and story that keeps people interested.
Overall, World of Warcraft is a better game. I enjoy the classes more, I enjoy the gameplay more, and the system is just smoother and nicer, hell I've even enjoyed the cosmos stuff because I was getting tired of returning to Horde vs alliance stuff. WoW absolutely could compete with FFXIV if they could pull their heads out of their asses and unfuck themselves. FFXIV is better at developing smaller plots that have a way higher emotional connection, though wow has gotten slightly better than they were before. The biggest issue seems to be that FF actually seems to care about their game, whereas WoW doesn't.
Oh man, who would have thought that the Blizzard rats would try and rush-release a patch the same month as FFXIV does its newest expansion? They've never done that before !
Especially not during the release of Shadowbringers where they rushed-out a shitty patch barely a week before or Heavensward where they rushed out a patch the EXACT SAME DAY.
Funny how that happens, funnier how it ended up with them slowly dying in a pool of their own diseased feces.
Not coming back i do not trust them anymore, my good will has ended. I am only if they return to their roots how Wotlk was and get rid of this borrow power mechanic

Answer : no no they cannot
Blizzard works hard to hold in WoW lifers who only like WoW, and don't play other games seriously. WoW fills the WoW lifer's time with chores to continue to raid and progress the character's strength. WoW finally hit a breaking point in which the cons outweighed the pros, and they begun to have trouble keeping the players on the chore treadmill and holding them in attention until the next time gated event rolled around. Many jumped ship, and stopped helping Blizzard fulfill their metrics for Activision, and worst of all unsubbed.
FFXIV is for people who like the raiding and dungeon experience, but also like other things. FFXIV has a strong story, good dungeons and raids. FFXIV has finite content, and a WoW lifer's desire for a round of chores to fill their time won't be found in FFXIV.
FFXIV isn't competition to WoW. WoW has just gone in the wrong direction.
A boy cried wolf- basically Blizzard says "we'll fix it" and dont for so long that when they actually do say "we'll fix it" people are unconvinced
I am sorry, but we can not state, "They are listening now" When this has happened for the last few expansions. They break, we beta test. They go Oooops, then fix it. Thus far the only thing different about this is that it is called *.1.5 patch instead of a *.2 patch
I just feel like you 2 are buying into what thus far has been par the course and giving them another chance that they simply do not deserve.
Quality of life changes are great and very needed in this expansion however if there’s no extra or new content who cares
I'm totally down for a longer expansion with a slower cadence and say 9.2 in 3/22, 9.2.5 in 7/22 or 8/22, 9.3 in 12/22, 9.3.5 in 4/23 or 5/23, with 10.0 in 9/23. just as long as they keep up with making the changes that the community asks for.
Fighting an FFXIV X.1 with a WoW X.2 patch? Ouch.
X.1 patches are usually very successful and this one has an ultimate that's been hyped up for a year by now, same thing with going against an X.3, those are notoriously quality.
Endwalker is just another way of saying endwow
It's too far gone, as they waited way to long to listen. They are far behind, where they were ahead. FF14 other than the fact they don't know how to take payments as 1000's of want to be players are denied access, is still a far better game. I just can't believe they at ff14 don't know how to process payments.
I think the smart thing for Blizzard to do is to move towards a close out of the game, and then do an actual remake of WC3 to set the stage for a WoW 2 that starts in the Classic era, but with all the modern races. Maybe some races swap sides, but nonetheless start from stage 1 with more choice. This would allow Blizzard to avoid the story pitfalls they suffered, and also get back to differentiation. I think Shaman, Death Knight and Warlock should be Horde-exclusive, and Paladin and Priest should be Alliance-exclusive, and new specs could be created among the classes to compensate. Void Elves should be eliminated and just replaced with High Elves loyal to the Alliance. There should be strong differentiation between the two sides. I’d put someone like Garrosh in charge of the Horde, and make Thrall a more neutral character trying to get the factions to cooperate for the good of Azeroth, but the Horde needs to go back to being the bloodthirsty, “evil” side again, whereas the Alliance needs to return to embracing the Light and being the “good” side.
I want to get back into WoW but SL and 9.1 really don't appeal that much.
I'm having fun with TBC and will enjoy P2 up until Endwalker. 9.1.5 has 0 chance of redirecting that plan. We are not even talking about 9.2 here where there would be actual content to lure players with. It's a systems and balance patch. There is no way a patch like that, no matter how nice the character customization will be, is going to even be close to competing with a full fledged expansion. The best thing they can do in relation to FFXIV is to wait 2-3 months for the 6.0 lull before 6.1 kicks in and THEN try to draw players in. XIV encourages players to dip between patches. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THAT!
A large number of player have jumped ship but are still keeping an eye on the game. They are busy with other things so take advantage of their distraction and use the time you need to make 9.1.5, 9.2 & 9.2.5 look as good as they can so that they return for the big 10.0 hype and release. No matter what they do SL will be remembered as a second WoD so embrace it to give us Legion 2.0 without the random legendaries.
A lot of work and course redirection is needed but it is possible. They need to play the long game now and slowly rebuild the trust that was burned over BfA and SL. Considering they spent one and a half expansions burning trust I say half of an expansion to rebuild it is a lenient regrowth time. And unlike the in-game version this one will bloom at the end, not the start
