Special thanks to Delta Star on Hyperion for helping figure out these safe spots! These tips were created on week 1 of release for Patch 6.3 in FFXIV.
Cliff Notes
Purg 1: small pie slice SE boss relative
only dodge SW boss relative IF: Square is directly North (boss relative) AND inner circle is spinning clockwise (the outer and inner circle will be spinning in the same direction)
Purg 2: opposite the intersecting lines
Purg 3: in-between the intersecting lines
Purg 4: go to the side of the M the arrows are pointing towards
Purg 5: stand East of the NE line boss relative
Purg 6: find the straight line to the left or right of the intersecting lines and move past it

I'll try to memorize this because I suck at this mech
1st one is Se orientated from boss or compass?
Best guide for a safe run yet. Because of hitbox size, i think melee can still get uptime too if they learn the lines of the aoes well enough.
I don't get 5, is this NE boss relative? Or TN?
I've been using another method for 4. First I identify which of the two lines connected to Rubicante is surrounded by two straight lines, as the square directly in front of it will always go off. I make that square my north then position myself slightly south of center so that I'm safe from that square. After that, I go west if there's a clockwise rotation or east if counterclockwise and I'll be safe from the other square as well.
Now this is just UNETHICAL. Nice one
Will post back how I find this later. I really have a blind spot with imagining these rotations, this looks like a way I can wrap my head around it.
spatial reasoning is hard, ty
Are 1 and 5 boss relative SE/ENE or absolute SE/ENE?
When you say orient yourself to the boss for P5, what do you mean by that? I'm finding it a bit difficult to know how to 'orient' myself on the video alone. Also in P6 would your example be shown be considered 'left' to the intersecting lines? If so what would a 'right' orientation look like?
I LOVE how you show positionals. This is the stuff for higher end I want to see when I look for guides thank you! I'm a visual learner so this video is more invaluable than you know.
There's a method for 4 that someone told me that was even easier:
Look for the fuse that will be a straight line after rotating.
Go opposite side of it.
Rotate with the arrows until you end up on the pie slice closest to that side of the semi-circle you're in.
I was nodding at most of this til you got to the "M" part, lol. There's got to be a better way.
Still, nice simple and short guide
Incredible
I tried the strat for purg 1 here, but it doesn't seem to work if the line it lands on is a curved one D:
"easy" this boss will never make any sense to me. even on normal
Unfortunately you're missing a few patterns which conflict with your suggestions for the final resolution.
Having a little trouble understanding 5. By ''orient yourself with the boss'' does that just mean facing the direction the boss is facing, and then just going east from there?
FINALLY! An in-depth video which I can actually understand for the mechanic. Thanks a lot! ❤
