So many people get focused on either finishing a game or grinding out the “Endgame” they forget to just enjoy themselves. Glad you’re having a blast with XIV!
its so funny to me that ppl are like "once you're done the msq you're done" when there's literally tens of thousands of hours of content outside of MSQ to do in 14. raids, side content, the achievements, there's so much more to the game than the MSQ (which is massively overhyped imo)
the game what you make it. if you think the whole game is just hardcore raiding, ur gona have a good time until that content runs out. there is SO MUCH to do in the game and if none of it interests you then the game aint for you
MSQ is what i dislike in MMOs. Im here for combat and content, for the grind
there are sooo many more things to do besides its main story.
*Gold saucer mini games
*level another class
*Wondrous Tails
*Beast Tribe dailies
*relic farm zones like Bozja
*PVP
*Island Sanctuary
Just to name a few, far more than I can recall

Its wild to me how many people steamroll through the entire msq and miss everything else until later. A lot of the content is made to be played with its expansion, and endwalker even has little ways it rewards players who did just that (and though they are small they still got me so excited) that you will completely miss if you steamroll. I know some people find that to be the ideal way to play but its so foreign to me that I just don't understand it. I've spent two years working my way through most available content, the only things I've been saving are savage and ultimates and that ilk. And its been such a wonderful relaxing and refreshing time. I'm probably going to finish the last of the ew patch content before dawntrail drops, but if I don't oh well haha.
Yeah ff14 isn't like a single player game that's it's just one and done or you play it a few times then your down there leveling your other jobs, leveling you crafter and gather, grinding for relics, grinding for the best glam, raids and then there are also savage and extreme raids which you can ignore cause most people are lifeless loser that think being able to go a raid in a video game make them cool when there not unless you do raids with friends then
I've had more content to do within FFXIV after I stopped focusing on just MSQ and Raiding and it has been a blast. I'm not gonna run out of things to do for a very long time (and this is coming from someone who's been playing for 5 years)
14 is about the journey way more than a lot of mmos. Wow it is literally just endgame. I can't speak to others as much, but 14 you get immersed because everything has an attunement. You need all the context, which in itself is huge.
