FFXIV Endwalker Reactions! | Part 10

This part of the game was so whimsical and fun and such a stark contrast from the events directly leading up to it. I absolutely adore the loporrits, and the heart-to-heart we had with Urianger was SO GOOD!

  1. Nooooo I already miss lala Tenacious lol…
Yeah, Urianger is my favorite scion, too. He has a stoic personality and bears many burdens, but there is also a profound warmth to his character, and it really comes through in moments such as those with the loporrits. I have to say, I connected deeply with the themes behind the overall Endwalker story. I felt it. Yet I've never really been one to cry easily when reading books, watching movies, playing games, etc… But there was that ONE SCENE involving Urianger later on (if you know, you know), and that was the only scene in the expansion that had me shedding tears.

  2. Was going to go to bed but saw the notification and had to watch!

This part felt a bit too long when I was playing through it but your edited down version was perfect. I love how you basically died IRL at the outfits!

  3. I don't remember seeing it in your video (but I could have easily missed it) but they were right about the chocobo smell option is the rude option. That is because, before Patch 5.3 removed it, there was a part of the MSQ where you were going to help escort the Domans to Mor Dhona. And there was the grandfather that was complaining about the horrible smell of the chocobo. In fact, all of the Domans, I think, was complaining about the smell.

Eventually, the quest had you put perfume on some cloth and the grandfather wore the cloth against their face. This allowed him to get in the cart that the chocobo ran. And the Doman kids were also jealous about the mask, too. If I'm remembering all of this correctly. It has been a while since I did those quests before they got removed in Patch 5.3.

  4. Thancred's prior remarks about Argos' appearance are twinned nicely with the comments Urianger makes upon the Loporrits' awakening about how their forms seem purpose-chosen to soothe the hearts (and anger!) of any potential Etheirys passengers.

In a time of, to put it bluntly, pants-shitting terror and confusion, you want Argos to resemble "man's best friend" (in the wake of having just killed Zodiark) and the Loporrits to be saccharine-adorable bunny people (aforementioned scared, confused, upset refugees). It just makes sense!

  5. I cracked up at that line in the beginning from Thancred about "just what happened while we were away?", seeing as they've known you all this time as a female Lalafell then suddenly they show up and you're a male Viera. xD

I really appreciate this part of the story. It's easy to forget it with all that came before and comes after, but it was a nice dose of levity before being thrown into SO MUCH HORROR.

  6. This part was difficult for me to get through. Not because I didn't enjoy it, I loved it. But maaaan was I anxious to know what was happening down below, and who that voice was. Probably didn't help that I was doing all the sidequests at the same time as MSQ. I did, however, end up having the second and final trials unfortunately spoiled by youtube titles/thumbnails shortly after…

But about this part, I particularly enjoyed Livingway's dialogue. All of the Loporrits are great, but they did an especially fantastic job writing her. Urianger's character moments are great too, I love when he gives the 4 Loporrits that pep talk and when he resolves not to keep anything from us this time. I also RP walked the entire walk with Growingway and stayed on the path because…well how could I ever rush through that?

  7. 19:30 People probably still can't get over the fact that he worked with the Ascians for a minute back in Heavensward. It took me a long time to get over that personally, but he's a good dude, and I understand why he did it.

Glad to see that you cut the entire Bestaways Burrow section down to 20 minutes. I love the Loporrits, but I felt like this section dragged on for waaaaaay too long when I played it.
