  1. power tier lists are stupid

You can turn any "F tier" character into an "A tier" with the right equipment and supports

"S tier" are for characters that are already broken by nature and don't need as much setup

    simple like that

  2. Note that they don't show the dmg numbers, because how good a char is heavily depends on how you build and play them. These videos are merely telling you how their kits work. Some chars with normal-looking abilities can still deal the biggest dmg with the right supports, equipments, and rotation (the order of skills used by each member in the team). Combinations can be as simple or complex, everything gets more complicated than shown once you actually try switching things around. For example, Hu Tao with Yelan/Xingqiu is a very popular pair to use because they can do constant vaporize which deals insane dmg. For Eula, she needs specific supports like electro chars or Mika, and you need to be very skilled in efficiently charging the sword stacks during burst to actually do good dmg. In short, she's can be very hard to play.

Of course you don't need high dmg to clear any story, so sticking with chars you like to play is best. But if you care a bit abt dmg (or to not struggle with some enemies), then trying chars in test runs (if you don't have the char) or reading dmg% scaling in their Character Talents screen (for both trial and owned chars) might help you get a better picture of how good/bad they truly are.

I personally like to experiment and build some support chars as dps. It's finding the fun combination for a char that normally doesn't do much dmg by themselves. An example: Kazuha is a busted anemo support that provides ele applications which enhances others' ele dmg, yet you can also build him as a physical dps by giving him a phys dmg sword and artifacts…although any sane person wouldn't do that lol

  3. Ayaka is my main DPS in genshin. Her charge attack can hit multiple enemies and when it's infuse with cryo, it's busted because the enemies will be frozen if you pair her with a hydro character. My team is Ayaka, Kazuha, Zhongli and my one and only favorite hydro healer, Kokomi 😀

  4. 28:16 screaming remembering how mona's sprint was banned from windtrace (genshin prophunt ) bc people would just hold her sprint in one spot while hiding in water found in most maps for the event making it near impossible 😭😭the reward requirements were harder to get too bc some required u to win without a disguise so mona was huge advantage

  5. Really interesting how you think some underperforming characters looks op, i think it all comes down the fact these aren’t all too informative, yes it’s beginner friendly but it does mislead sometimes. Take qiqi for example, heals everyone, does a bit of dmg, overall great healer and support. But it fails to see that she doesn’t give energy, long ass cooldown, and the fact that there’s better options (4 star options actually) so yeah it’s a good introduction but I discourage using it to based which characters are good and which you should pull for🙃. If you want to see which characters are meta, look at tier list and stuff, it used to be disastrous but nowadays they usually agree with each other, but know that you can clear this game with the free characters (lisa, amber, kaeya etc.) so just pick whoever you want to play and know how to make a team around them and build them, you’ll be fine.

  6. Great video! I can't wait till you get to Liyue, you should stream your journey to getting to the harbor, it's a real magical experience and might still be my favorite introduction to a city in this game, even today

  7. I love that your understanding of the game (based on bennet) has skewed your understanding of the game so heavily, that you immediately dismiss one of the games greatest dps (damage per screenshot) characters in Hu Tao as mid. She does an absurd amount of damage when built right.
Also you see Kazuha and you think DPS, which is only right in Genshin's way of doing dps, via supports. He is a SUPPORT. His elemental damage buff is a little high when built for and though you don't have access to these artifacts yet, Anemo also can be used to reduce elemental defenses. Thus he literally does it all, while not being a dps. Since having more than 1 dps means you are doing less damage, supports are more important to collect. Dps you choose based off of playstyle. Supports are must picks unless they have terrible numbers.
Speed ≠ dps. Especially when you are looking for damage per screenshot. Most slow characters (not all) have higher atk ratios to compensate.

  8. The fact that this video becomes just as much theory crafting on the narrator as it was about the character highlights made me smile way too much. Looking forward to seeing you get further in the story to see how your theories play out!

  9. Telling you from experience, meta doesn't matter much in this game. Sure, there are characters that are stronger than others, or have abilities that are situational, or work in certain team comps, but in the long run, as long as you can defeat the enemies, it doesn't matter who you pull/play.
The only real place where meta becomes even slightly important is the Spiral Abyss, which is completely optional, anyway. Genshin is not a hard game and the character building is very flexible, and because of this there is no "one true way" to build anyone. You can build a character any way you want. You can turn dps into healers, you can switch elemental type damage, you can turn anyone inro a main dps hypercarry, etc etc.
I, myself, main Albedo because he's my favourite character in the entire game lore and character wise, and he works just fine for me. Hell, I'm AR 60 and have never gotten past floor 11 of Abyss, but I don't really care about it. I don't play this game for BEEG DEEPS, I play because the silly pixels say something that either makes me laugh or kicks my heart in the metaphorical dick. I'm here for the world and the vibes and the music and I'll be damned if I let someone try to ruin my fun by saying that I should be maining characters x, y and z and do 10 billion damage like them.

  10. I get that in other games it's pactical to know which characters is more meta to help clear content, but one of the reasons i love genshin is that instead of character meta you just have to learn the game mechanics and read the talents. Then you can chose gear and basically make anyone into any role you want and make them busted with the right artefact. There is even weapons in the game that can turn a character that has no healing capabilities into a healer if you feel creative. Or an artefact that can turn catalyst healers (elemental dmg only dealer) into physical dps because that artefact set gives a bubble that explodes and deals dmg based on the ammount healed.
Another good example is kokomi having a negative crit rate. That sounds bad right ? people got mad when they heard about this, but in fact you just have to read her talents to make her the best healers in the game that can deal big dmg with 🌈elemental mastery🌈 which doesn't require her to crit

  11. Really liked your reactions, especially because not a lot of people react to the collected miscellany videos, but I really have the feeling like you wanted all characters to be a main dps or something like that XD of course some characters are only there to use their skill and burst and then you swap them out, you usually only have one main dps and three off-field supporter. you can make everyone a dps with the right supporters. But other than that, great reaction, you really tried to understand and speculate and you are in for a ride with Genshin!
