  1. the comment about Scholar being piratey or like a commodore. the Nym where SCH originates was a seafaring empire, trade ships and all that so a nautical theme does fit.

  2. [Job] weapons tend to be meh, in part because this is usually when you'll be looking to do the [Relic-type] weapon grind. For example, Shadowbringers' is called a Resistance Weapon and requires a lot of grinding in Bosja (and I mean a lot grinding for FFXIV; WoW vets will be more "That's all I need to do!? Really?"). There's also the tomestone weapons and the tiered raid weapons.

I seriously love NIN's set, especially the colors.

  3. there's been some indication that the artifact sets WILL be dyable this time around. The level 80 sets have a dyable version, but you have to do farm an extreme trial to get them. But there was mention in an interview awhile back that they were considering just making the base sets dyable this time around, and apparently they were dyable during the media tour event (or, rather, you could preview different dye options, there was actually no way to get dye during the media tour trial).

So my fingers are crossed that we'll be able to color our artifact armors however we want this time around!

  4. AF gear is about making you look like your job rather than being very flamboyant. So whether a gear set deserves to be AF is really about if it captures the iconic essence of their aesthetics.

  5. TBH, I more or less main WHM and I don’t like that set either, my favourite is the 80 or.. uh.. 60 set. The pure white robe with the pleated red highlights are the go for me. I hate those external frills.

  6. Artifact sets are made to look like the classic jobs. That's why red mage, black mage, white mage, etc. look very "stereotypical". It's like…yeah, it's white mage. What else can ya say? Lol

  7. Black Mage is the most basic of the armors this time. As a White Mage Main, I have low standards for looking good. If I don't look like a guy dressed as a nun, I'm happy.

  8. Is it just me or details of the armors has been rising significantly in the 5.x patches? Also I didn't see anyone mentioning it but I have big Yuna from FFX vibes from the white mage armor for some reason (I know Yuna's is more kimono like but the general form of the gear remind me of her dress)

  9. I have no proof, however I think the HD Pic of SAM shows white face paint and the under eye paint. Don't know if that is something hearkened back to kabuki or something. BTW Bard for life.
