  1. yay!! i hope you have a lovely time here in FFXIV!

i'm sure you've already been told these things but I haven't caught a stream yet!

I'd definitely make sure to set other players battle effects to limited, so you get the necessary effects shown without the eye blinding crowds. Can also "/away" to prevent tells/trades/etc.
    good luck, have fun <3

  2. Welcome to the party. Enjoy the game, play your way, and ignore the strident fanboys (like every game has). My personal recommendation as an ex-wowie is not to try to complete all the side quests you see. They're there for flavor, and feeling compelled to do all of them will lead to potential burnout.

  3. Welcome to Final Fantasy XIV. Please enjoy the story, and have fun. I recommend talking to The Smith in the Adventurer’s Guild when you get to 15 and doing all the training. You will receive a gear set for your class, as well as a ring that gives you good stats and 30% bonus experience points until level 30.

  4. Welcome to FFXIV! I hope you enjoy and have a pleasant experience doing the MSQ! The community can be very friendly & welcoming, but can also become overwhelming. I hope that they will be respectful of how you want to play and that they don't get in your way of playing the way you want to. Cheers and welcome to Eorzea! 💖

  5. Welcome to Eorzea. The crowd seems about right. Be ready for them to be at all the major lore moments in the story haha. If the effects get a but much you can turn down other player effects. Hope you enjoy the ride.

Side note, i was happy to see you rejecting all the trades. It is a little odd to me to see people just throw items and money at streamers when they play mmos. Items arent too bad, especially funny trades like the coke one. But when they just feed you money it kinda lessens some of the game. I suppose that is streamer privilege though lol.

  6. If I give any advice to a new player, its this. First off, don't ignore those green question mark tutorials, especially if you're familiar with MMOs. Yes, you'll glaze over most of it, but some things are slightly different and these will let you know what. Secondly, learn the basics of changing the hud and look thry the settings. This is a Japanese game, and as such, there are a few settings that are normal in Japan, but not in the west, but they know this and there are settings for pretty much everything. Knowing how to quickly adjust your hud and tweeking the settings on the fly will make your journey much more enjoyable.

Lastly, and you'll hear this from others, focus on the MSQ and Blue quests, but don't be afraid to take a break and do other stuff when you need one. Before you get to Endgame, you have a Final Fantasy game to play thru before you get there. It's a long journey, so take the time to enjoy it.

  7. Holy cow, that Shelltear player was super desperate to get on stream & since you didn't friend them I'm guessing you legitimately didn't know them lol. "WOOF" guild looking mega cringe….
