  1. Bruh, i saved the world but i can't buy a piece of plot for me to retired to. I hope this island sanctuary sanctuary is somewhat like Genshin Impact's teapot or at least somewhat close to housing.

  3. I see people comparing it to garrison a lot and I would like to say that, unlike garrison this won't interfere with the main game stuff. You won't get tomes, gil or anything that you makes you not go outside. Probably no city market board or probably they won't include retainers there at first. People love to show off their stuff and socialize so the cities being empty is not gonna happen. People don't spend their time in limsa or in the major cities because they don't have a home, it's because they want to be there.

  4. Hopefully it'll be prettier than the Garrisons in WoD.

Don't get me wrong, they weren't terrible… but I'm a Floridian, and I play Horde; I was stuck in the snow. SNOW. Frozen water just… sitting there… on the GROUND. And NOT melting. How unnatural!

At least these islands look nice and tropical. Pleasant and appealing to all.

  5. Well, one way to not burn out on the Island Sanctuary is to have things take time till tomorrow or next week. Easy enough to do by calling it "growing stuff" or "paint or glue drying". That seems more acceptable (and immersive) than arbitrarily saying "This you can do once a day. That other thing is once a week!
I know the end result is the same :), but a bit of gameplay rooted in realism isn't always bad.

  6. I knew from the moment they first mentioned Island Sanctuaries that I was going to be disappearing for awhile into that system once it launches. I already spend WAY too much time doing housing and stuff for housing, I know this is just going to be even worse.

  7. My favourite time in harvest moon, was whacking my dog with a hammer in the gap between the bed and bedside table while listening to how it whimpers. I will then need to restart the game because the dog ran away, and that’s how I learned not to be cruel to them.

I now /slap my carbuncle all the time in FF14.

  8. This feature was originally said to be coming on 6.1, then it was delayed till 6.2 to allow the try-hards get their their exclusive 'ultimate' content .. and now it's been delayed till 6.2.5 to allow the try-hards to get yet more of their exclusive conent .. so 6 months delay for the majority of players to get THEIR content .

    GG SE.

  9. Incredibly disappointed that raising your chocobo's level past 10 is still locked behind the housing situation. All I wanted from Island Sanctuaries was to be able to grow onions

  11. I wonder if the "instance" aspect could be how they do The Rising Stone and other locales that you "zone" into but you can only see yourself. The way I recall those working is that you can only see yourself, so when you are in the inn, that inn is the same for everyone but you can only see yourself.

So in theory they could setup Island Sanctuaries where the data shown is based on your character and when a player visits they set the data to the player's character so you can see what they see, but for all intent purposes everyone in theory is on the same island, just doing their own thing.

I don't imagine Island Sanctuaries being a "duty" you load into since that would also mean they would have to put a timer on how long you can stay in the island for and I imagine their purpose is to allow access for an indefinite amount of time like when you are in your house.

Since they have shown in Housing, each plot of land is able to place down their own items in the yard area without issue, it would be easy enough for them to integrate that system into island sanctuaries to have a seamless experience. As long as the island data is attached to the player data it shouldn't be to difficult to have any weird interaction issues occur between players since there should be no way to have two island IDs interact with one another.

  12. seeing how it's "instanced" I really, really, really hope it won't block you from entering while in a queue and I really fucking hope it doesn't have a duty timer so you have to re-enter every time it starts running out. Would also mean ALL instanced content will have massive queues, not for players but for servers..
