  1. Wait, people are complaining about NIN cause TCJ allows you to move now? Like, that doesn't really make it that much easier for the people at the top of the skill chain as they were optimizing around it anyway.

    Like, I get it to an extent. As someone who has healed or tanked since HW, (Not a great player but can generally get 90-95% parses in savage) I will say I do personally prefer old Cleric stance and Tank stance dancing to what we have now, but my personal preferences aren't going to make the game healthier for players who don't play as much or put the effort in that I do? And honestly, I personally believe these were taken out of the game because of people like this who tried to force their playstyles on others in casual content.

  2. Buffing something makes it "Better" but that doesn't make the game more fun. If hallowed ground lasted 20 minutes, that would make it better, but that wouldn't really be great for the long term health of the game.

Ninja is the only job I play and I agree with the ten chi gen change, It was really annoying casting ten chi gen and no its not a skill issue but it was just stupid you had to stand still and if you moved even slightly by mistake because of reflexes then you just loose a lot of damage, it was a stupid design for a very long time not to mention how annoying it was against boss fights and raids. It just gives ninja more flexibilty.

  5. Dark Mind is STILL a unique defensive Cooldown after this change unless I got amnesia and forgot another Tank who has a defensive cooldown that works exactly like Dark Mind…

  6. This guy specifically? Yeah, he's a little dumb but I don't think it's the case for most people who don't like the changes. On the current design of the game, yes, there is no downside functionally, it's all positive. But a big part of these sentiments are coming from the game becoming notably easier with most of the job changes in 2 different ways. When a game gets easy, people get bored, especially when the class was more fun to play previously, its not always a pride thing. The first way is it's getting dangerously close to the point where jobs play themselves and no thought or player agency is required. The second is that most of the classes are too self-sufficient for an rpg. There might be people who argue this is an mmo and not an rpg, but there wouldn't be classes or roles to begin with if that was true. When every single class in your role can do anything all the others can to the same degree besides damage potency, then there might as well be only 1 class for that role.

    This is a good patch for the classes for this expansion, but i see it as a temp fix cuz i dont think its good for class design. Take Ninja's change for example. I dont think Tenchijin should have always allowed movement, I think not every 2 minute window should add artificial difficulty by forcing you to move during your burst window in EVERY SINGLE FIGHT for the past 3 expansions, making the ability incompatible with game. I hope right now these patches only serve as temporary fixes for the current expansion and its designed content and not what theyll do in the future.

    As a tank main in regards to tanks, I hope they split mitigation across the ROLES (ex: mages/heals mitigation for magic, tanks/phys mit for phys) that way things like dark mind are quaint little EXTRAS that help give individual classes a little perk in some fights, rather than dark mind being bad because it feels like you're missing a mitigation for no reason because you can only use it sometimes.

  7. I'm ganna make point against Xeno, because I think there IS a problem here.

    Please don't rip me apart too much, I like Xeno he's the best FF14 strummer.

    I think people aren't ever upset about how easy or hard a job is, or it's place in meta, or even how it plays, they're upset that the unique aspects of the job are being homogenized. That's what it is.

    And they're not wrong, the Dark Mind change is good for the current design of raiding but the downside is yet more homogenization, undeniably.

    The more SE do this, the more pointless jobs become. When every Job is the same, there's no point to there being Jobs. It's just Role selection and you choose which colour you'd like your abilities to be.

    That's obviously the slippery slope conclusion, but we are clearly heading more and more in that direction, we have been for years and it's becoming extremely apparent to the point I think it IS hurting the game overall.

    People don't like that, I think people enjoy having unique things that only their job can do or something their job excels at. It's very fun, it makes things like party composition actually interesting! and changes like this reduce that fun, that's why they don't like it.

    What's the difference between a DRK and a WAR? Like, nothing really. You could say one is more effective then the other in meta, but otherwise, they do basically the same shit.

    I member when DRK was the only one that can plunge. It was a novel ability and DRK was kinda shit in meta at the time, but even having something small yet unique like being the only tank with gap closer gave those players a little sauce to work with and having your own little Job-unique tricks and sauce is fun!

    I don't like that the game is becoming more about what your Role does and less about what your Job does, I understand it's easier for SE to balance or whatever but it certainly also makes gameplay more and more boring across all levels.

    So, I think when people are upset over Dark Mind, they're not upset at Dark Mind specifically, but the continuing trend of homogenization making the game less fun.

  8. If weaving a hammer strike on your balls every 3 gcds was mandatory, the balance would vehemently advocate for it. It's a great resource for ppl to work out your bis and "optimal" rotations, but mute literally every other channel and you'll be happier lol

  9. It's funny seeing them blame xenos as if the dev team watch him and take all his points and not him calling issues out and then they change it because they also think it's an issue not because a streamer said to change it

  10. To be absolutely fair.
    You’d use dark arts dark passenger in tandem with dark arts dark dance.
    This would make your evasion rate absolutely insane BUT was absolutely useless in raid.
    Honestly it never got old seeing “dodge” pop up on my screen over and over again in dungeons and I was so sad when they took this away.

  11. I dont like the change (and I dont think Xeno is responsible for this)

    At this point, juste make 1 tank, they are all the same anyway

    SE wants to make "1 buttons class" for every job and put all of the difficulty in mechanics (only in savages & ultimates) I dont know how it can be healthy for the game, casuals dont have fun experimenting the "gameplay" (only available in savages & ultimates), all they have is "1 button win" jobs I dont know how casuals can have fun with 200% braindead class
