Final Fantasy 14 is one of those games where you are blown away quite early on with a world that is nothing like World of Warcraft and yet…

  1. On my first month as an FF14 player, I was in a group that even I wanted to quit, and it was totally my fault, I didn't know the mechanics of that nidhogg's wife dungeon and we wiped a few times. To make it worse, I got DC at some point and I thought they'd totally kick me. Yet, people were pretty chill and offered advice and all, until we finally did it. It was disturbingly unreal.

  2. Captain Grim is definitely one of the funniest machinima creators I have ever seen. It's such a shame that it took me this long to find his content. 'The Current State of WoW' was the first time I saw his content.

  3. I've been playing Ascension Wow for a while now, a classless lvl 70 TBC realm or seasonal draft pick Lvl 60 realm using a very modded WotLK client. There is an extra layer of random enchants (on top of regular prof enchants) that completely change spells and their effect.
Its very active right now in the private server landscape, you should give it a try.

  4. After months of playing FFXIV I had my first truly negative PUG experience the other day; when a guy started calling everyone out and telling them how much they sucked and how they were wasting his time. Thats months (been through ARR and Heavensward twice (restarted when actually subbing)) and 1 truly bad experience. The group came together after the player left and were closer because of it.

Compare that to WoW and, as a tank, if you so much as deviate from the most efficient path people will leave and call you a scrub.

  5. When I played FF, two events made me love this games community. 1. Upon questing (I dont even know what zone), a max level actually stopped to ask if I had any questions and needed help… Something NO one has EVER done in WoW. 2. While doing my first dungeon I was obviously lost, the group actually walked me through it and waited for me to catch up with them before pulling. The love and appreciation within that game is absolutely surreal!
