  1. You don’t know how difficult is to push players to do the Hall of novice. Even that it gives a good armor for low levels.

But when you say “tutorial” everyone runs away from it.
Make it part of the msq some how.

  2. i hope at some point we get an update that restricts you from queuing up past a certain point without a job stone, i remember getting a rogue in the last endwalker trial and said rogue was as helpful as you'd expect

  3. Training hall getting a makeover is years overdue and it being done in general is nice. Something else I'd like to see is players automatically upgrading from class to job at lv30 and instances requiring class /job quests completed up to queued instance level.
Hall of the Novice is for many outlandish and obscure. This announcement too, will doubtless get flame from those waiting for viera and hrothgar hats

  4. I don't think it needs to be required. Some people are better at learning by experience. You can tell thousands of people how to do it, but some just can't understand it unless you see it. And this is not the ideal way. It is boring and doesn't capture your attention at all. I never did Hall of Novice when I first played and I did not struggle at all. A lot of people just don't need it. And if you force people to do it, many people will just zone out and do whatever as fast as possible. Hallf of Novice is already annoying because it takes an annoying amount of time to do it when I don't need it. People can watch videos on youtube and it will be much faster. You should never require something like this. Let's not forget that a lot of people who play the game, they aren't doing it for PVE and you shouldn't require a non PVE'r to do it. Many just buy boosts so they can RP or do other things that isn't PVE.

  5. I don't think it should be mandatory.. Because there is plenty of players like I am who just mainly craft and gather, I could care less about doing dungeons, it's more of a necessity whenever they gate something behind them..

  6. I've noticed lately, more tanks in instances are single pulling and healers are not offending. Might also be an observation bias going.
Instead of npcs holding players back with talk like "don't be too eager to rush headlong into danger", some of these players could do with a little "what's the worst that could happen?" in my wrong opinion

  7. yeah… teaching players how to play the game is one of the biggest things that annoys me about the game. it's just not done well. MORE OVER, they don't properly prepare players for harder content. doing savages and understanding how they work is one of the key factors in gearing late game… while not required per say it's very much something that should be encouraged, and encouraged to go into blind.

  8. I would say make it mandatory at 49. As a reward give a chocobo mount with barding that matches Disciple of War, Magic, Tank? Just something that makes it being mandatory less of an issue.

  9. totally disagree with this. nope, i think people need to be pro active and go after guides to learn about this. Too much hand feeding creates bad players imo. Also they need to implement a system in which if you die, you lose xp. That is by far the best way to teach people. During the same dungeon, if you die the first time, you lost just a tiny bit. But as you keep getting killed over and over, you keep losing more xp exponentially. Right now since there is no impact if you die (just a debuff), people are allowed to not care.

  10. i gotta say, i do think that coincounter showing the aoe for 100 ton swing is actually a good thing as a new player. especially since the rest that ive seen have been untelegraphed. its nice to have an introduction to the attack, as ever since then, if i see 100 ton swing being cast, i know exactly what to do

  11. Never underestimate the ability of certain players to ignore all efforts to teach them how to play your game. Or trolls that deliberately want to waste people's time. Or jaded players that need to touch grass thinking that every w2w pull will go exactly as it did the last time, or that taking an extra 30s 60s on a dungeon is the end of the world. 😅

  12. The "graduation" shouldn't be mandatory for people with a level 50+ character on their account. Or we should have a big incentive to "graduate" – like a mount or some very nice glam.
Too many players have reached maximum level (too many times) for graduation to be mandatory – it would just be weird, like there is no need.

  13. People who are not new players often forget they cannot gauge new player experience. Practice will teach you something important not even experienced players learn: what you need to learn.
You wont be successful in teaching something if the person in question is not aware it is important and new players wont know it until it becomes important TO THEM.
One thing ALL MMORPGs are guilty of is sacrificing new player experience with a concept of fun that is not in everyone's mind: Novelty.
If the game did not introduced so many instances in which you are taken from your character to perform "special task bar" or "vehicle combat" or other diverging gameplay unless you WANT it, people would invest themselves in the needs of a gameplay that is the core of their gameplay.
You are tired of your routines ? Try another job, try "specific" non mandatory quests in which you are a vehicle, you are a NPC, you are a dog, you are a pile of crap, dont matter. But they should stop "multiplying gameplay experience" unless it is something people are doing for the sake of that experience.
How would you really learn your class if you are required to do different things throughout gameplay, and then you are thrusted in a part of MSQ, or part of class, job, or role quests in which you have to not actually be your class, role or job ?
