Fellow Legends, welcome! Today we dive into another epic JoCat video, this time with the omnipresent and all important Healer Role. Final Fantasy XIV works in strange and mysterious ways, and the Healer is no different. Healers may not have the longest damage rotation in the game, but the need to weave your AOEs and Heals definitely makes up for it. There are some Tanks out there that can make pretty big pulls, are you up for the Healer Challenge? I absolutely loved watching this, and if you did as well then I do absolutely commend you go and check out the original video to show some support for the source material!

So sad the edgelords are doing their annual harassment campaign against jocat
people being nice in videogames are rare but very very nice
Hehe. The Fat Electrician did a video on eggnog xD. And I love and hate playing a healer. I basically have to lead the party with an iron fist otherwise they will Crack Squirrel themselves to dealth.
I feel really bad for Jocat. He's had to basically quit Youtube over harassment.
he was saying stupid is a status ailment and you cant use esuna to get rid of it
"Healers are expected to do damage"
My friend Nick who has literally tried to turn an EVE dreadnought into a hospital ship, and refuses to do anything but support with the most DPS of Warframes: "I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that."
If I remember right Rubix Raptor did an FF14 video which was hilarious. Hope you check it out.
A couple things that come to mind.
Stone spells travel time is just a visual effect, it otherwise functions exactly like any other healer dps spell.
Glare is an upgraded stone that you get at later levels.
The card system is very important for Astros. You get mana back every time you use 'draw', so you should be doing that on cooldown while also playing the cards. It becomes a very busy job.
For those long dungeon pulls with psychotic tanks, you're probably going to have to start using cooldowns. I find in later content the trash is more dangerous than the bosses in general. Also, holy is God-tier in those situations. Swiftcast into holy if things get ugly to give you breathing room, just keep in mind you'll only be able to get three off before diminishing returns negates the stun.
…
You should look into the JoCat situation. I'm sure you'll have thoughts. He's made a community post on it. Its very sad and he will be missed.
My general rule to healing:
1) The Tank – If they die, there is a high chance we wipe
2) Me – I'm the healer you daft idiots
3) The Dumb DPS – They don't know what they are doing, so I kind of have to keep a close eye on their health bar
4) The Smart DPS – They know what they are doing, so I am less worried about them, but will still heal if need be
5) Other – They will be healed as I deem fit…usually after they die and I bring them back to prove a point
In regards to required Tank LB3's: Yep. If you ever see text stating to transcend/break your limits, or a countdown to an attack, its probably a tank LB moment.
Alexander has a required tank LB3
9:15 16.. SIX.. TEEN vulnerability stack. Holy lord in Heaven O__O
I will say, this video was made before Endwalker, when White Mage's Thin Air took a heavy nerf from "All spells for the next 15 seconds cost no MP" to "the VERY next spell costs no MP, but we will give you two charges of the ability". This made WHM much more mana hungry than it had been in the past, and also meant that WHM could no longer have their two minute damage burst be at the cost of zero mana. It didn't take long for most WHMs to realize "Okay, if I press lucid dreaming either right as my MP hits 7000 or slightly after then I won't actually risk running out of many", but it was a sink or swim couple of weeks, and WHMs currently do have one of the harder times managing mana, since IIRC once Astro hits a certain level it gains 800 MP every time it draws a card, which when coupled with all the OGCD heals that it gets post lvl 60 lets it essentially never run out of mana.
I was a basic Mi'qote until I ascended with the knowledge of lesbian warrior bunny girls! Viera all the way!
