The chaotic was great! Having/had a lot of fun. Cleared it on Christmas. There are discords for it already (i.e., RADAR) and the biggest problem right now is just diverging strats. Hopefully now that Happy has a video out people will settle on CODCAR. I think it is important to remember it is listed as a high-end duty. If you were doing Sphene early, PF was a nightmare for that too. It is not that hard, it's just a lot of people – there's only really a single body check at the swap.
It should have been made easier and with almost no bodychecks. The game needs more midcore content, not another hardcore raid.
Nice to finally see a ZepLIVE clip, mere moments after it went live, so to speak. Can't imagine what to anticipate next… Keep me in the dark and I'll follow! (If you catch my drift… Surf's UP!)
I rarely do the savages and ex stuff but Iâve started too this patch and this fight has been fun Iâm only able to prog to P2 as of writing this but love the fight
The biggest challenge with this is content is finding a group where people arenât lying about their progress
Wish it was a whole series where u could do Cerberus fight. The fight is super fun but strange that its more of the same content. Nice to have a new way to get gear for ultimate tho.
The fight is awesome
But also horrible, having ppl join lie about progress wipe everyone they leave and everyone becomes impatient and also leave and now your back in pf waiting for another 23 other ppl join to have the exact scenario happen.
Even with a clear group the amount of pvp mechs to kill other people even if your doing mechs right it's the players you have to watch as they kill the entire raid and then leave without saying anything.
đ im ranting but getting reclears is like extremely low.
I haven't even started progging yet. It's hard progging savage via PF and hoping someone doesn't leave because they are impatient, but it will defiantly happen with 3 different 8 man groups. Watching the videos on people playing, the raid seems too difficult for 24 man to prog for hours at a time.
7:35 It's true. I enjoy raiding and currently progging FRU. The addition of chaotic alliance is nice but I too sighed when found out it is another content that require specific coordinations. 1st phase is fantastic! It felt like an EX fight. Phase 2 is more akin to savage (heck, the adds is basically revamped e9s). Man, I don't have enough time/energy to prog towers and brambles on days I'm not doing FRU. đ
Additionally, healer BiS now include some pieces from CAR. So I cannot NOT do it or postpone it to way later in the expansion (since I'm healing in FRU). I'll be doing it slowly and surely farming it soon.
I'm not gunna lie I hope they never do anything like this again. this is horrible
I highly encourage you to look up the comments made by JP in their "about chaos raid" thread on the official forums. They are about as negative about this raid as they were in their original reception to the launch of Dawntrail, if not worse.
Iâm glad the raiding community is happy I guess. I would like some new small 4 man content and something to do in the overworld.
24 people can't be trusted to do precise mechanics and many people are lying to get into clear parties out of frustrations of not passing phase 1 with enough people alive to prog p2. They overthought the difficulty here. Think I'll just stick with extreme trials even though I'm really trying to start savage raiding this expansion.
100% agree about your take on XIV needing flexible raid parties like WoW. Even if you try to to have a group for this new raid mostly made up of FC members, you'll still have to find pugs through PF and deal with the typical players who leave immediately after the first wipe and spend 30 min to an hour repeating the process of filling the required spots.
Hardcore players like Xeno and Happy: "Oh this is so fun, this is so easy, yay"
Man those dudes should have it forbidden to comment on difficulty.
OFC it's not gonna be hard for someone who makes a living by doing hardcore content smh
I mean i play this game now since 1 year and also its my first MMO.
It's a little Harder then Extreme from my feeling and i say that as a new player of this game.
I did finish Story at May and also started Raiding at Dawntrail and i think everyone can clear that.
I see me also not as a Hardcore player i need always a little longer to learn stuff and it was a lot to learn for me and still is to this day.
I wanted to do all content of Dawntrail i am only missing FRU corrently end Phase 3 and i do all on PF.
I personally dont think Chaotic is hard the only hard thing on this is keep the group together that no one leaves đ .
It was easier for me to clear it then M2-M4 ^^.
The best way I can put is you take all the stress from PF 8 man ex and savage and apply it 24 man but times it by 3. For every player that is lagging behind there are 2 more doing the same thing. Then when 1 of those player burns out and leave more also leave then you got to go back and get more players. More player means more room for error. It going to get to a point where vet will only take other vets. The bonus is not worth the risk of having said player wipe you.
From the sound of it, we got another Criterion Situation here. They tell us it's midcore below savage but then a shocking amount of people have massive troubles with it so the content ends up mostly dead
I feel the same way. I don't wanna do "hardcore" raiding right now, I cleared DSU and have no desire to touch an ultimate for the foreseeable future. I've been losing faith in SE since they cannot put out any midcore content for the life of them. I just wanna play with my friends without content being a 1 and done (Alliance), or requiring high effort (High-End Content). I spam maps for the cool new weapons but nobody wants to do them because they are not interesting or fun to do. I'm growing more and more sick of the formula they stick to.
Took me 21hrs to clear, and i was clear ready at hour 5. Ppl are exaggerating on towers, the real big problems with it are tiles, gaze laser pvp, and especially swap partner stacks, that one has killed 99% of the parties i been in that could have been clears. its a really fun raid if not for it being mid tier savage lvl. During phase 3 theres more going on than M4s. it demands too much for the average player. 1 person can wipe the entire raid. its frustrating. also pf is not built for this. 1-2 pulls ppl leave.
I didn't realise the chaotic raid had released
More 4-player savage would be great. Less of these types of content that require so many people to coordinate. It's tough to pf it. Progging always feels like 1 step forward 2 steps back.
The problem here seems to be the same problem we've had since ARR came out: the rest of the game is way too easy, exceedingly easy, to the point the game never actually teaches players to play the game, and many, many players never go out of their way to learn because there is no reason to do so, so when there's any difficulty spike, anything that puts personal responsibility on the players or anything that assumes players actually know how to play, you meet tons of resistance. The problem is they've spent a decade already designing themselves into a corner because of that absurd notion that went into ARR's design of "not stressing the player" by practically removing the "game" part out of most of the game
They need one that is intended for drunk parties similar to the second nier a raids first boss. The mechanics randomly eject people but thereâs plenty of rez opportunities
There is basically no content for people who aren't end game raiders in this game. Which is the same situation we had in Endwalker.
Its wild to me that Yoshi can just say "Well we intended it to be close to Extreme, but it ended up being like Savage. Whoops!"
It's not etched on a stone tablet. It's video game code. You can make it anything you want it to be. I don't know why they wouldn't tweak the fight to get it to the target difficulty.
Also 1000% agree on WoW raiding, the flexible party size is so much easier for social groups.
I cleared a couple of times now, got the tile mount, still may go back for the hair. But aint no way i will farm the other mount. This is literal torture in PF. The fight is by no means hard, there is very minimal dmg check. But whilst in an 8 party content you get 1 of the shitty stereotypes or 2 from PF in a 24 man raid you quite frankly will ALWAYS have ALL of them. The freaking "numbers matter more than clear" greeders that murder the raid for an extra gcd, the prog point liars, the "did not read" pf description on Codcar vs raidplan, the "i dunno how to read" people who literally dont read the strats even though they now quite frankly describe everything. The "i joined as 3rd melee or ranged but i wont fake melee/ range" assholes (why you join third if you dont want to be fake???? oh wait, right you cant read). Then you have the toxic people that scream at everyone and the toxic nice people that wont allow anyone to be pointed out (and honestly its a 24 man raid, there is no way you can do the goody two shoes shitfuckery here… )
I cleared with both strats, botha re okay if people read them, both are super easily doable. Codcar is good cause it splits healers more evenly and you dont need to rely on randoms to heal your team. Raidplan currently has a better spread/ stack definition (more consistent imo).
If you are a streamer maybe you will be fine. The only good thing is for casuals is that people will come help you clear because SE made a restriction on those who cleared. If you join a duty completed – reclear party you only get 1 , taht is ONE demimateria II. If you join with people who havent cleared yet, based on the number of those people you receive more, eventually receiving 49 demimateria II if no one cleared. Its literal punishment if you dont go and help people. But then we will have a lot of people who cleared via carry… and this generates a problem on a long run.
And i find it ridiculus taht you need 50 freaking demimateria I to get the cloud mount. FOr those who dont know demimateria I is for the cloud mount (not market prohibited) and 75 demimateria II for the tile mount. And 49 demimateria II for the hair. The clothes have each lower amount. Drop rate on the cloud mount is so low. Hair kinda drops with an okay rate.
I think savage content is easier than this chaotic raid if only because pf players are just another mechanic you have to deal with. Like, 4 FC mates and I joined pf learning groups as soon as it launched and my freaking offtank was ignoring the entire tank mechanic altogether; forcing me to aggro down, then up, then mit, then shirk, then down, then up, then voke, then mit, etc. all for the sake of his damn comfort so he could happily do his poor rotation without a care in the world.
He then asked me to "tell him when to swap" and when I spammed chat he didnt even read it, gdi. I don't hate the raid and I don't hate people either, but I will say I hate selfish attitudes,
i have 16 clears so far But, there is 2 problems:
1) Prog liars & people that just are bad in general
2) people that get carried / or get a clear without actually knowing mechanics, and think theyre "pro". The fight itself isnt hard at all, its actually REALLY enjoyable, but its the P00P players that make it horrible.
Remember when Asheron's call was run by a raid group?
People debuff is very real with chaotic raid. With 24 people, it needs to be on like valigarmanda/first extreme trial in expansion difficulty to be midcore.
(Yes i know this is very easy but with more people required it needs to be accessible by anyone who wants to TRY for a little bit with very little friction that you can carry struggling players in) Not story mode difficulty, but like I think it should be fine if you're a skilled player you can brute-force carrying a struggling player. It's HEALTHIER for the community. I agree it needs to be more flexible. Bozja and Eureka was like that, like you could take your hyper casual friend, and you a skilled player could carry them through it and you have fun together but you still had fun and got decent rewards as a person who no-lifes the game too.
They have a choice with Chaotic – they can make it hard – in which case release it when excitement and buzz is high at the start at the expansion/patches, the rewards have to be fucking amazing and have longevity.
OR – you make it catchup content towards the end of a gear-cycle like it is now, and easy as fuck for people to carry players everyone gets an item level boost going into the new patch cycle.
It cannot be too hard, during holiday time, with exclusive rewards towards the END of a patch cycle when players have other things to do that require time and attention.
As a materia player, where its christmas/new year and summer time with a small data-center I got back 3 days after travelling to see my family, tried to prog it, waited 2 hours pf for a group. Most groups were A2C party groups, no fresh learning groups. After the group filled – we lasted 40 minutes before people dipped and we refilled again. Then 20 minutes progging, and a whole party dipped (goodness knows what happened there) and then the group disbanded. it was so depressing and disheartening i gave up.
Why is raiding content always getting prioritized? Why do people have to wait a year or more to have one of the new features they announced during fanfestđ
Not sure why they decided to repeat phase 1 as phase 3. Should have just ended the fight at phase 2 and spare everyone a lot of hassle.
I feel like a lot of people in this comment section either 1) haven't progged anything in pf before or are 2) super over reacting to the difficulty of pfing this fight. Personally i don't think the fight is that hard – the premade groups i know cleared it in like 2 lockouts and even random pf groups with giga casuals who haven't done any savage before are doing just fine in the fight. The "24 man body check" isn't actually a body check because you can just tank lb, miss a bunch of towers and be completely fine. The dps check doesn't really exist and you can just scrape people off the floor without many issues as long as the people rezzing are on the correct area of the arena.
Idk it could also be that NA pf is significantly worse than EU so in that case unlucky for you guys i guess (?)
It's like EX/Savage 2 hard. Tiles phase is more like EX speed but hand and heart spits mechanics out fast so it's more savage like. It's not hard just need to go over your positions. I cleared thru PF as dps and tank.
I cleared twice. The mechs aren't hard. Having multiple strats, people not reading, people not wanting to learn mechanics, and lying about prog. I'm also the one who started the discussion about cleaves being a phase because I thought it was stupid and feel the only reason people call it a phase is to make themselves feel like they actually accomplished something.
Just started extremes for the first time, wow why did I wait so long, its a thrill and lots of fun. The only issue is lots of groups are forcing 710 or 720 item level…and I am late to expansion.
Looking at the % of clears on ffxivcollect and chaotic is sitting at 0.3% so we will see how much it goes up in a week. Currently ultimates and savages seem to be around 3% to 5% cleared and 8% for M1-4.
I think the game severely lacks content that's between Normal and Extreme difficulty. Like… imagine if dungeons had a couple more mechanics per boss and could actually kill people. Normal is just too braindead even for a casual like me.
I donât want to do this content lol too many mistakes can happen and you have no idea why unlike 8man fights. Also BIS isnât gonna count in a few weeks and the rewards I want I can buy on the market board.
