  1. Literally annoys me to no end when people use the yoshi P quote saying "ffxiv is made to let you take breaks"

That is some GIGA levels of copium for the game being so barebones, it's literally shadowlands 9.1-9.2 all over again

  2. I feel like it's kinda fitting that the relics tied to Hildibrand questline to be more casual than the previous ones. Cause Hildi questline to me has always been more of the gag comedy that we do to take a break from the usual apocalyptic events that MSQs put WoLs in. Now does it suck for ppl who want that grind for relics to have that sense of achievement? I'm sure it does. But the fact that relic come with Hildi quest should foretold the casualness for ppl who did the quest b4 this relic announcement. And for the ppl who have never done it? Very sorry for the mind numbing spamming "skip scenes" that you need to sit through from ARR.

  3. Discussion is healthy and important, and there has always been room for improvement in FFXIV. But I looks like a lot of people are trying to play FFXIV like it's WoW, where you HAVE to log in every day like it's a part-time job that you depend on. But it's not. Never has been. It's not a cop-out to tell people to play other games because Yoshi-P himself stated that people should take breaks from FFXIV. I'm not making excuses for Square Enix and I'm not trying to squelch discussion or invalidate people's opinions. But I think people have grown to expect so much out of FFXIV that the dev team has almost no room to maneuver without upsetting some segment of its playerbase.

Seriously, if you're not having fun in FFXIV, please play something else before you get so angry and bitter that you can't even look at the game anymore. Come back when the game has content that interests you if you've accomplished everything you set out to do in FFXIV.

  4. it's just, some ppl hates Eureka and Bozja and wanted token grind back like Heavensward. Now they did that and the next ppl are upset cause of only token grind. I mean i'm a part of the community aswell but those toxicness about this topic is insane.

And the relic grind wasn't really hard she describe how hard it is, but it wasn't any hard in any Relic Quest. It was just more time investment in Final Fantasy 14.

Next thing i enjoyed Eureka and Bozja really, but i dislike it at the same time cause Eureka and Bozja is dead after you finished it and new players couldn't enjoy it like it was before.

  5. I don't know I don't mind it I quite enjoy the Hildibrand story it gives me a good chuckle and I get a pretty neat glamor weapon from it as well, I wonder if people would take better to it if the story was a bit more msq related as hildi is quite niche and is definitely not for everyone I don't know I just don't see how farming fates with extra steps for hours on end is any better.

  6. here's a question: what percentage of the player base is actually caught up and begging for more things to do? that might inform how they're playing it safe

  7. my theory on why they didnt go with a exploratory zone its cause yoshi p had to oversee 2 game 14 and 16 and rather than being stretched too thin and potentially messing up on both chose the safer route and lighten his load with no exploratory zone this time

  8. It's just better, there's like 5 expansions worth of relics, I did two of the ARR ones and they are NOT fun…

It's better so we can continue to do other content we want to do

  9. I love this relic. Bozja and Eureka are super tedious and gimmicky (to me) and I am glad that I am not forced to do content I don't like. I can put in my time wherever I want to and actually complete a relic instead of getting bored and giving up because it is a superficial upgrade anyway. But I am far from emotionally upset about the loss of mandatory glorified fate farming. PLUS it makes Astronomy tome consumption scarce which helps people that opt to cash in on crafting mats instead of relic weapons.

  10. Basically if you wan't long wait for patches just chill in FinalFantasy. But if you had a lot of time and you wanted a patch every month, well play other games. Genshin was not MMO so I can't understand the FF community for comparing that game to MMO.

  11. I think the thing to consider is that older relics were more geared toward getting a single relics done at a time. Where this way seems to be a way to make it easier to get more then one relic without draining your life away.

  12. Reading the comments on this video it seems like the majority really likes the fact that the relic is so easy to get.
But if you look at starts like the stream player numbers (yes I know it's a minority, but comparable to itself) you notice a huge player drop off one month after a new patch in EW. That is not normal and also not healthy. It seems like the devs began to focus on new players this expansion (also old dungeon updates with trusts) while not adding content that makes you want to stay in game for longer. Honestly this isn't good for the game and it's also not good for FCs. People just disappear from the active player list and all you hear is: this is fine, just play other games. It's mind boggling.

  13. This relic system idea is great but only thing is I think they should increase the amount of cost it take to get relic. Relics should be feeling rewarding, and grindy. Having the cost tomestone total for one relic upgrade or even purchase should be 10k imo. Something to feel rewarding of doing something, not something that just a hand me down basically. Even 10k tomestone is casual considering how much we get just basically logging on to play the game.

  14. Considering the length of the Manderville quest line it's understandable that the relic would be fairly straight forward as a reward. That said, it looks like they put all their effort into Island Sanctuary which ended up not having any real replayability.

I wish they take advantage of older content more. Maybe revamp hunts to be more engaging. Similar to the gauges in Eureka where it slowly built up attacking mobs. Tie it to mob attributes or require special weapons/gear that makes fighting low level mobs harder.

  15. I prefer the the Hildy Relics to the Eureka Bozja grind, 1,000%. Hell I'd even prefer the old ARR or HW grinds to that shit. And I sure as hell prefer it to pulling on a slot machine lever in a single player game.

  16. without new zones/story to compliment a relic weapon I would rather it be this over and done than a grind with existing content instead of new content for a relic. But gonna have to add it SHOULD be easy to get since they released Criterion in a state that you cannot just play it unless you raid which defeats the purpose of 4 player hard content if I am forced to do the other thing to get the gear to do the thing or wait forever for raids to be old. They could just design those around non-raid gear but that is not what they did so until they do…
