Xeno Reacts To Bad Healer Tier List Made by Journalists (KEKW) | FFXIV Healer Tierlist by Fanbyte

This is the final video of Xeno reacting to Fanbyte Tier Lists. This time Xeno reads the Healer tier list and just as previous Fanbyte tierlists, this one is not much better. Xeno once again gets confused by the non-existent logic behind the Healer rankings.

  1. My reactions as a healer main who's cleared most of the content in this game:

    ASTROLOGIAN
    – I agree this is S-tier, at least in a reclear or opti environment. This pertains just to raids, though, where its buffs excel.

    – It's just incorrect to state that a group should have a regen and a barrier healer whenever possible. Double regen healers is most optimal except during early savage prog/ultimates.

    – AST is not all that great for normal content. Its group buffs don't gain much mileage due to small party size not to mention suboptimal rotations and inefficient use of party buffs from other players. Sorry, but WHM is by far the best dungeon healer.

    – I think he's trying to say that Astrologian is "cursed" in that it starts at 30, unlike other new classes which start at a much higher level. This is actually a fair point.

    – His assertion that cards are much less complex than mudra is laughable. Using cards at the exact right time on each class requires a decent understanding of every single class in the game and the awareness necessary to apply it on the fly. This is way, way harder than memorizing a handful of mudra.

    SCHOLAR
    – I'm surprised to see this one rated above WHM, though not disappointed. SCH is much better than most people give it credit for and is for sure better than WHM in high end content (outside of prog).

    – I don't think he words this concept of "push and pull" between DPS and safety well, though the thrust of his argument is correct. Being a good healer does involve knowing how to balance DPS and healing.

    – The fairy is far more than a source of "passive healing", considering that many of your buffs originate from it and are mutually exclusive due to being tied to the fairy. He's patently incorrect here.

    – "Casting benediction over and over again." Lol. Yes. The spammable WHM GCD heal. I understand what he's trying to say in that SCH doesn't handle reactive gameplay as well as, say, a WHM, but this was perhaps the worst example he could have used.

    WHITE MAGE
    – White Mage grapples with the "Damage vs. Healing" choice far more so than classes like AST due to the fact that its rotation is much more rigid. Limited weave windows means the WHM needs to know how much punishment someone can take right down to the wire in order to maximize its own damage output with well-timed heals. WHM has more to gain from playing risky than the other healer classes.

    – I understand what he's saying in that WHM DPS is pretty dull, though. AST DPS is pretty dull on paper, too, but your moment to moment feels much more active due to weaving heals and drawing/handing out cards. He doesn't word his point well, but I don't disagree with it.

    – He's right that WHM is good for new healers, but the same qualities also makes it excellent for prog. I wish he'd have mentioned that.

    – On the whole, though, his WHM points aren't far off base at all.

  2. i view utility & support as 2 different entities, support = it SUPPORTS the team, be it with increased dps, or defence, or cc, utility on the other hand, DOESN'T touch any of those aspects, so essentially only (can't remember the name atm) aoe movement speed, THAT'S IT, another way of putting it, support = combat, utility = non combat

  3. I usually heal i like fast healing and i like tanks to wall to wall if a tank doesnt wall to wall i dont deeps as well why should i do more work when someone else isnt pulling their weight

  4. As a SCH main I may be biased, but once you get aetherwind (I think its called anyway) it's almost impossible to let my teammates die. Low lvl content is carried by the fairy and using my fairies healing abilities especially the aoe regen I almost never have to actually heal. Art of war spam and fairy heal spam. In harder content the shields help so much in mitigating dmg your whole team takes but almost negates tank taking dmg. I just wish their outfits were better

  5. Mudra vs Card complexity?
For me mudra is more easy since its mussel memory over visual pattern recocnition.
Did not help that I was leveling it in 5.8 just to have it caped before endwalker and not trying to hard since things would change soon anyways.
Never the less, I think im gonna call a draw on this one and just say it depends on two factors; what are you better at kinesthetic or visual learning? And strait up how interested you are to optimize the job (shocking i know, right)

  6. I have to give an UN-PREMIUM to quick completion of early to midgame content with astro. Few ogcd heals, damage budget is buffing questionable team and no CC, compared to white mage your personal agency is abysmal when wanting fast clears with 3 scrubs in early to midgame content. Sure if you have "veteran team" but they would just unsync it unless they are leveling.

Premium early to mid gameplay with randoms, blind faith they are good and tools to accelerate them or tools to make up for they're shortcomings?

  7. If you argue that Astros provide support with their cards which all exclusively provide a damage buff, then you would also agree that trick attack, battle litany and stratagem is also support.

  8. Nr.1 White Mage, because White Mage is a range dps'er disguise as a healer!

Fucking EVIL madhatters all of them! 🤣🤣🤣❤️❤️❤️

The rest can fight for Nr.2's and 3's! 😘

  9. I'm probably not saying anything new here, but white mage is the black mage of healing; many people find it a little simple and boring, but its the best at churning out nonstop personal power right away if you master their kit and optimize for it. While its rival jobs are more fun in skillfully managing its extra mechanics, white mage has the luxury of not having to fiddle with that stuff and all the setup and juggling that that entails and get immediate access with not much strings attached. Like how scholars have to get their fairy summoned and Aetheflow for their primary kit and have to be very mindful of what they spend it on and when with that tight resource/cooldowns and the delay of fairy commands, and ASTs have to compartmentalize part of their brain to deal with the card management, or how summoners have to build up longterm to their different phases, or red mage has to build up its black and white mana bars to get into sword phase, white mage and black mage are just instantly ready to go and start casting powerful spells nonstop, personal damage at the expense of raid damage utility abilities.

For these reasons, I think white mage should always deal the most personal DPS, and compete with sage for that spot since that won't come with a raid DPS buff either (also said to be a master of offensive magic alongside healing). Likewise, a fully competent black mage should be the best personal DPS provided they don't die in AoEs, since the other casters are more mobile and can almost always be casting unconditionally bordering on physical ranged DPS of consistent instant damage from any range. I'm a black mage and scholar guy, personally. And on that note, samurai should always have a pretty significant personal DPS over monk despite its turbo speed since monk has Mantra and Brotherhood. Samurai is the only melee DPS with no raidwide utilities, including reaper, so it kinda has to stay personal DPS king by default. By how much, I don't know. Samurai and black mage should be the ones always competing with each other for top spot, samurai has no cast times to worry about but it still has to be up close, so they both have their own conditional requirements that way. I was looking at FF Logs and saw dragoon was #1 in damage in that department, don't know why, I don't play savage raids.

  10. I would trade the faries for a 5 stack of aetherflow, "Dissipation" as personal heal buff, 2 or 3 dmg dots and bane lol, as a scholar you have to play around not with just shield but also "emergency tactics" to use "succor" has a Aoe heal if you don't have "Indomitability" you can also combine "Recitation" + "Emergency Tactics" + "Swiftcast" + "Adloquium" to have you personal Benediction (Almost) if you don't have "Lustrate" or Excogitation, is good for things like Trollbolide.. I have fun playing SCH.

  11. 1. If you’re stressed about learning healing in a group setting use you FC squadrons for leveling early till you get the hang of it.
    2. I’ve only been playing for 5 months, still have a lot of learning to do, and I know this guy has got some hot takes. Although this tier list isn’t as bad as the others

  12. I think it's fair to say Astro was made significantly easier. You no longer need to deal with Royal Road buff shenanigans and every card just does damage.

While I miss having cdr/gcdr/tp/mp cards, playing around them was harder than what I stated above.

  13. For "support" those mean buffs that effect others. Everything can be split between damage, heals, mitigation and support. Dancer damage boosts, sch chain strat, PRdps raid damage mitigation or monk matra all are considered support. This is factored in to dps jobs pull. A dnc does less than sam, but will boost the whole party.

On the strike for astro being hw locked, at 50 you spend a long time doing patches to get to hw. When you do get there all the wasted roulettes that could have gone to astro allowing you to continue with msq without pausing to catch it back up. This is a problem mech and drk share while the others are released in ARR areas. Level to 60 on msq and you unlock 2 50 and 2 60 jobs with no wait. These jobs also can do msq from go as they start at 50.

I think the worst thing about the video is that he makes a few great points you fail to grasp because they seemed to want to pad the word count or sound educated than they are. Or english isnt their first language but that is on their editor and them.

  14. As a Scholar Main, this guy has really no idea what he is talking about, The tier of the class is pointless, the quality of your healer is what actually matters, not which class they chose. Sure they say Astro is S Tier, but id rather have a good White Mage, than a half-assed Astro

  15. The astrologian part about being introduced in HW I think is more about the fact u need to go thru ARR and post ARR patches before u can unlock it. I don't think he says it sucks that it wasn't available in ARR but rather than it's locked until HW

  16. The person has never touched ast, because the cards are color coded to tell you who to use them to after shb changes. Its required for you to remember exactly 2 colors. Violet = ranged dps, cyan = melee dps
