  1. I play the game just to do the end game content, so the less grinding for materia I have to do the happier I am. That said, I do think you have a point. Also, I never raided back in 2.0 or in heavensward where the materia was more difficult to get, so I have no idea how fun or engaging these materia grinds could be if done right.

    The market for materia has crashed for sure and the system does need a rework. You're right about the lack of horizontal progression as well, as tenacity feels next to useless compared to the other options and gear in general is primarily a DPS increase. I remember watching Xeno's warrior guide back in heavansward where he talked about meeting vit requirements and accuracy requirements based on the fight, would be cool to see some of that come back to make us actually think about our stats more than "what gives me the most crit"

  2. i dont even do these methods to get materia. i buy dirt cheap crap materia on the mb then transmute hundreds and hundreds of it to good materia. keep what i want sell the rest. people sell level 8 materia for 300 gil since its not one of the better ones. ill buy it all no problem and convert it over.

  3. Honestly, I feel like you could say more or less the same thing about all of the ShB changes that aren't related to MSQ. As far as I'm concerned, ShB has been a colossal let down of an expansion. Tanking? Ruined. Healing? Ruined. Dungeons? Boring set pieces for the MSQ. Raids? Way less fun than SB. Other than the MSQ, I can't really think of something that is praiseworthy in ShB.

  4. I hope materia becomes something other then stat sticks, that's just so boring 😐 Lemme like get extra abilities or augment current abilities with job specific materia. I'd take extra of one stat at he cost of another even 🙁

  5. Horizontal progression is a joke.
    You wanna know why? That's what you call a FLATLINE. People want to go up, not waste their time and money going no where. So it's good that the system killed the absurd prices for materia in the market. It should have never been like that in the first place, especially given how insignificant they are to attributes. And nobody should have to go through the trouble of farming materia by kneecapping yourself. Either by rolling trash gear to dispose or by trying your luck with good, expensive gear to dispose.
