I would say play it on PC because you'll still be able to play with your friend who plays on console. FFXIV is crossplay so console and PC players can play together.
if you have a choice I would play it on PC, the game is cross platform so you can still play with your friends who are playing it on console
i hope if dee plays this then he chooses primal and gets on famrit or any other primal world lol
Pog
Just wondering while looking at the list but where's the FFXIV x Nier Automata Corssover?
Awesome. I do enjoy watching people react to these trailers.
man the story of this game is incredible. even hearing certain motifs in the music make me choke up thinking back on the MSQ
6:30 That's Alexander. You'll see. I'm pretty sure this "benchmark" trailer is showing off the new features that came in during Heavensward; the new classes (Dark Knight, Machinist, Rogue, and Astrologian), fishing, flying mounts, new raids, new beast tribe, new dungeons. new fancy attack graphics I think, new attacks… Everyone kicking Nidhogg's ass for being unreasonably angry all the time…
7:20 And that's Bismarck. Big white sky whale.
11:00 You are the main character. You're canonically the Warrior of Light in your adventure. There are other characters in the game that fight alongside you throughout the adventure, but the story is about you. You are very much the chosen hero of the world destined to save it from evil; they get around having other player characters in your party by simply calling them "other adventurers" that you call upon to aid you, but now they've begun working a Trust System into the game, which allows you to utilize NPCs as other party members for four-person dungeons (and they work pretty well, too; I've only used them a couple of times, and they've only been in the game since Shadowbringers, but the AI for the NPCs is very good at fighting against the AI of the enemies and also not dying).
15:30 Yeah, there are, I believe, around 20 different jobs in the game currently. And yeah, the mages are strong; Black Mage deals the most DPS damage of any class in the game currently. Dark Knight, from what little I know of it (haven't played it enough to really get how it works), isn't super-complicated, but it is tough; basically it's a tank that hurts itself to make itself stronger. For the record, I played through the main story as a ninja, and I don't know if I'd recommend that or not; the ninja is weird and very complicated compared to other jobs in the game.
18:30 I'd say PC, and the game is cross-playable across all three versions (PC, PS3, & PS4), so you'd be able to play with your console friend if you get it on PC.
24:20 It's Ravanna, Fourfold Master of the Blade. He just told you. He rules; I had a little minion of him following me around for a while cuz he's just so cool.
27:30 Yes, exactly. The brown-haired human man, known as "Meteor" by the fanbase, is the stand-in model for the Warrior of Light, your player character.
29:13 Going inside Alexander? No, don't be crazy. Who would do that?… Also, I'm pretty sure the characters at the end were wearing the armor sets & weapons you get from the Alexander raids.
44:45 Yeah, so this was where they introduced the ability to swim, as well as diving underwater in certain locations. Also, Red Mage & Samurai (the latter of which they showed off in the cinematic trailer doing the big exploding sword attack).
52:05 Of course. Ol' Rathalos has to find his way into every game somehow.
1:01:30 Every mount in the game can fly.
1:10:50 Yeah, the Shadowbringers cinematic trailer is probably still the best one so far. Even better than the Endwalker one in some respects.
PC for sure, better visuals, frames, loading etc
if you prefer console though its great on ps5 too.
Dont worry about console or pc players you have crossplay between systems. Play on what your most comfortable.
That guy you keep seeing is a stand-in or you. You are the main character
PC and Console are shared servers, so which ever you prefer. If you play on console, its worth investing in a wireless USB keyboard to chat
Ooh, that's so cool you got big SE to sponsor you! 👏 I like playing XIV on my PS4 with no problems but writing with the PS4 controller in the chat, is a challenge, choose whatever You like to play it, or play on PC but on the controller that's possible too 😄 btw in about 43:55 character in red, is a Red Mage using both sword and magic, I'm really loving that job as I'm now lv 65 😄
A benchmark is a program designed to test your computer. You can download the program and FFXIV will test your pc capability to run FFXIV by rendering those trailers in real time.
Too Dee you should definitely play the critically acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV! With an expanded free trial which you can play through the entirety of A Realm Reborn and the award winning Heavensward expansion up to level 60 for free with no restrictions on playtime.
There is a group of main characters like all FF games but your playable character is also an MC but it's your character.
FFXIV is fully cross plat. One of Yoshi P conditions when making the game playable on any platform is that it must be able to use the universal servers. Only exception is Korea and China because Japan cannot legally operate any business in those regions
The man with the short black hair is the stand in for the Warrior of light in these trailers. The warrior of Light is the player character.
In Stormblood the patch trailers change to actual trailers since they were better for marketting.
The benchmark trailers are not canon. They don't show any of the actual in game CS. But they do show alot of the open world areas.
PC or console isnt really an issue, its cross platform so both sides can play together. whichever your more comfortable with. I just say, stay away from the Steam version, its complete shite. if you go PC, buy it from the official SE store.

For a little context. FFXIV works pretty differently to most mmos. Each expansion is a direct continuation from all the previous ones and you have to play them all in sequence. They are like sequels connected together like a collection of books ala lord of the rings or harry potter. You cannot skip the expansions as they all conect together.
You are the MC. The guy in all the cinematics is just a representation of your character. Also, this game is cross platform between pc, ps4/ps5 and mac. I personally recommend playing on PC as you get more versatility with the hud and can type more easily. I was more of a console gamer before I started ffxiv, so I play with a ps4 controller on pc. I still get the comfortability with a controller but can have the versatility of being on a pc as well.
Endwalker Job actions trailer is kind of a must watch as it shows the jobs in their current state which you obviously will play.
DB you don’t have to watch all of it —only anything with A Realm Reborn is the base game – the rest is just dlc… now I haven’t gotten any of the dlc’s and hardly know about them, but I know they’re story driven and read a lil bout them – and I think they’re spoiler’s, continuing the story of the base game, which u don’t know the plot of the base game – I think u know I lil now
