I’m a new Final Fantasy XIV player and used to be a WoW player back in the day. I thought about checking out the cinematic for the base game live and this was my reaction during my Twitch stream! I’m having blast playing this game, there’s so much to explore and learn!
I am currently playing the free trial (around level 37 Paladin) while streaming live. You can check out my Twitch page if you would like, links below!

"The dinosaurs, man, they're gone" 🔥 also gotta love the Thor interrupt.
Well, they are fighting because the Garlean Empire is invading Eorzea.
At that point in the end of 1.0, the Legatus of the Legion that was invading – the VIIth – was recently killed by the players in name of the Alliance. And that Legatus, Nael van Darnus, was the one who managed to bring Dalamud down on everyone's heads. Defeating the commander did not stop the "moon" from dropping.
Louisoix as a last-ditch move teleported the players five years into the future, which is when ARR happens.
Every questions you asked will be answered when you finish ARR and Coils of Bahamut Raid. But what's funny is that you will learn more about it later on which gives you more questions. And more different perspectives. You think the story is done for ARR but something will happen which turns everything upside down. It's a great story.
to the Question why they are fighting: HOW new are you to the game and how well do you follow the story? o:
they made the decision, and they made it cannon. which is bad ass. also if you do the binding coils of bahamut raid, that cinematic will play again at the end, but will be longer and have some more information in it.
Dude, when the dragon popped you had Pepe eyes 😂
he teleported them 5 years in the future, that s when you start playing
One meteorite, this is ok. But two? Thats when they are fucked. Three? Its officially raining!
After 8 years of playing this game, this opening cinematic still makes me smile. Welcome to FFXIV, by the way! 🙂
I just love the way you pronounce everything.
