Too early to call it my main? Probably, but Summoner does feel great! Hope everyone's keeping well god damn it!😁
The new reaper class might appeal to you
You described Arcanist's story not summoner XD
Looking back from max level, SMN is so much more fun when you unlock all the 60, 70 and 80 expansions to your rotation. I'm glad you enjoy it at 50+ but it has so much more to build out to reach its full, superfun potential. Some of it is an expansion to your pet usage but you get more structure to your personal burst as well. I don't know what Endwalker holds for us but as a fellow fan of SMN I have to say that the full 80 rotation is such a treat and reaching the final burst before the rotation starts over is an unbeatable experience.
Is it very hard to play ?
what was your reaction when you got bane? and have you gotten tridisaster yet?
You did not mentioned that shared XP with Scholar. Queue for healer is like instant and often there are healer bonuses in roulette.
Hey man just found your channel, i too was a huge wow player, played since burning crusade till legion, and last year i entered on ffxiv and im super glad i did.
YOu are right Summoner is a very Warlockish job. For me honestly, i felt like Summoner was more like a Shadow Priest specially the Legion SP, both have windows or phases where their dps goes bonkers and during a fight, you wait for those windows to happen to dump all your spells and cd. to do mad dps, while your dps is just ok while you wait for those windows Other classes i find have similar mechanics are:
Death Knight Blood is very similar to Dark Knight they both are heavy-hitting tanks that rely on keeping certain buffs.
Both DPS warriors will find Samurai a very comfortable job since samurai is oriented only on melee dps without any utility for the party, you just go in do oonga bonga huge dps.
Machinist and MM Hunter, both range both have huge mobility and they focused on pure DPS with some utility for the party.
Arcanist Mage and Red Mages, both have a super static rotation that builds resources or wait for cd. to burst the opponent in huge DPS windows.
And TO ME FIre mage is VERY similar to Bard, cuz both are super proc. dependant, both have great mobility, and both need to save resources to burst the enemy when the right procs happen.
And Black Mages actually are more like Balance Druids more than anything, they both rely on 2 big phases, you will be jumping from phase to phase during a fight.
Try out Dark knight, its a tank job, but damn, i love it. also has lots of off gcd abilities so, its very fun to play.
a great thing bout summoner is you also level scholar as well at the same time. so if you wanna try healing you got a ready leveled healer right there already. which is awesome. especially when you get to doing dailies. can just go Scholar for fast wait times to get through em fast.
I'm not a fan of overly RNG styles either; I really like summoner and would also giving Machinist a go
Bard is definitely a priority list type of job so it is a good choice for those that like a bit more reactionary gameplay over a fixed rotation. If you like fixed rotations tho summoner was a good choice. It has a very strict rotation and also it really really sucks to die lol.
If you like a structured, repeating rotation I recommend Black Mage. We're glass cannons to be sure, but I love watching HP just fall off my enemies.
I really enjoyed the arcanist questline. I went scholar instead which has given me a weird druid/disc priest/holy paladin vibe and I’m loving it.
Book-bros unite!
I'm glad you're feeling like, with Summoner, you're finding your stride. I hope it continues to feel good and rewarding as you level up! Keep it up and have fun!
if you do get fully into this game it might actually have a good PvP content creator. I'm just tryna take a look at the PvP but its all videos from months ago and seem to be overall PvP guides, where as if i search "WoW PvP" i immediately receive recent and relevant results where i can get a feel of the current state and i am absolutely spoilt for choice with which class perspective to watch. I just expected a game like FF thats having all this hype and a larger player base than WoW to have an established PvP community on youtube, and seeing a lack of it is putting me off. I like being able to find niche youtubers who played the class i liked, thats why i found Cobrak, i wanted to watch a godly warlock go to town on people. I love that WoW culture of PvP guides and montages. I'll continue searching but it isn't looking promising right now
I hope you get the chance to experience more of the job stories because I think you'll appreciate how deep the delve if you loved the Summoner one. The Dark Knight one is usually held up as the best, but most are pretty good in their own rights.
As a summoner main I can tell you its not totaly fixed.. and it is priority but it does have a rotation it changes a bit into a phase based job
Bards aren't even the worst for procs, that is Dancers. That has procs on procs on procs.
Summoners are so difficult to get the rotation right in the late levels. Around level 70 it feels like you rotation is 3 minutes long.
I picked up Black Mage because it’s similar to Legion / BFA Shadow Priest and also because Lulu from FF10 is my favorite Black Mage
I highly suggest you try the Extreme versions of the Primals before the Coils.
When I wanted to give casters a try back in Heavensward, my wife at the time said "Well, Summoner is like Warlock" instantly sold.
Cob, as a seasoned wow veteran, dark knight is literally blood dk, so theres one you might wanna pick up when you get access to it later, i also highly recommend samurai if you ever find yourself wanting some melee action, super fixed methodical rotation punishing if you mess it up but incredibly powerful damage if youre good at it. Glad to see youre enjoying the game as much as i have been.
Just hit 77 on SMN/SCH and I'm loving summoner so much. Aff warlock was my favorite in WoW, which is what drew me to this particular video. I'll be looking out for more of your stuff, and hope to see more Summoner stuff in future!
