I appreciate this kind of thing, even if I'm not interested in the Elden Ring DLC (not my kind of game). It's why SMT5V is releasing a week early when it was planned to be released on the same day as the Elden Ring DLC. XD
It's such a small thing – like, the bar is so low these days – but it's really refreshing to have a major Producer/Dev just come out and say "Yeah this other massive release is happening and it just makes sense for us to work around it."
"Also, I want to play it too."
I know Jesse knows this, but this is more so a corpo move, they're just playing it very very well.
We can't release our game on the same day as the other game all of our players want to play. It's a self suicide cannibalistic move that can cripple entire franchises (See: Titanfall, fucking TWICE!).
So, corpo daddy says "No release on Elden Ring DLC day", and marketing master says "Let's just be honest about it".
Players like honesty 🙂
