They don't really disagree with your mythic+ take, they just feel as if you're insulting the game by saying there's no content. By far the dumbest FFXIV drama I've seen.

well the issue is you make m+ seem fun but it not unless you are high endgame m+ or raider .The sistem is super toxic and promost toxicity . to put a timer and limit the amounth of ppl you can invite is beyond stupid and get abused quickly and losing key is also a huge issue the issue is most ppl who say m+ is fun only od it with there group of freinds i suggest trying to do it with randoms without paying for a carry becuase there are ads on youtube of ppl selling them (no joke) and see what a nightmare it is .The sistem breed toxicity and it work in wow where the players are used on shitting on each other but it will only add toxic and might ruin ffxiv comunity. The added critearium dungs that also should be eough the fat this game add endgame content when less then 10 % of player do it is still something most ppl dont seem to understand seem like a huge gift for endgame players . Now you can complain about rewards that fine as ppl did with the new dungs and that fine but to add wow sistem that hugely toxic i na game that not wow or plays like wow is bad and is against the good of the game ffxiv is mostly a casual freindly game where endgame isnt the main focus outside of glam unlike wow where the whole game suck the dick of m+ and raiders and is made for them and not casuals or solo player.Now i understand all streamer have the need to make good conent andt that mostly isst the questing or story (unless first time running msq in ffxiv ) but raids and pvp and i am fine with that but it asking for more raids and pvp content only take from the core of the game that is the story.
I'll say it again, go get the Gunnhilder's blade title. (Have no problem with a player taking a break though).

As someone who played wow for 15 years, I do not want M+ in any game I ever play haha. It's fine if you like it, but alot of people just don't. I've never found the affixes or whatever particular interesting or engaging so the idea of having them in FF I just kinda made a face and shrugged. That said what you're asking for isn't too much and I won't begrudge you thinking it's a good idea, but for someone like me I don't see it as content. I think it's okay to finish the game and be done. Then again, I only play a couple hours a night, and I spent like half of it just doing the pvp in frontline.
I love frontline, lots of people, FF and wow community hate it while I will gladly extoll the virtues of frontline. Similarly, people praise wow's pvp, but I absolutely hate it. Different tastes for different people. Maybe criterion is the first lead into revamping content with harder modes, who knows how they will expand it.
I like criterion but yeah it is a "one and done" kinda deal. Frontline is the real savage.
Regarding defensive FF community… I feel this is projecting. As someone who is in wow, and watched alot of wow, who looks at lost ark forums.. holy moly do people get CRAZY defensive about those games anytime there's criticism. People commenting on people quitting is a tale as old as time for most MMO's, and people commenting on peoples reasons for quitting and nitpicking flaws is the same. I think alot of people have insulated themselves from other communities drama and FF's is more visible so they act like FF is special.. .but FF doesn't get 100+ page comment threads shitting on content creators over critiquing their game.
But that's just my opinion on that. Also that guy is siding with you lol, he is mostly commenting on how people are making a big deal out of you quitting and how the game has content… but some of the content isn't for you and that's fine.
