Super interesting. I never would have expected zone chats to be practically silent. To be candid, that would really creep me out, but it's neat.
Staying in Tonberry and my chat macro is essentially dual language lol.
Like my big pull macro is "まとめ-ます – I'm going to pull hard!" or my greeting macro when tanking is "不慣れですが、よろしくお願いします – Nice to meet you!" because I have tanxiety so I want everyone to know I might make tanking mistakes >_<
And when I do make one, it's instantly pressing my Sorry macro – "すまん! >_< – ( Sorry! ) "
Would you recommend FF as a game to learn Japanese? What level of proficiency do you think you would need to do so?
some of t hose are the same for US servers. We greet everyone in FC and party and when someone gets off for the night we ssay goodnight or bye. I have yet to see any toxic players yet in US servers. Everyone says if they are new to a dungeon in the US also. But the whole nobody talking in Limsa is kinda odd LOL
