  1. 3:09 hey someone did that to me today. And I was the tank.
    They pulled without the tank.
Yes it caused a wipe. I came out of the cutscene and it was like that one Community scene where the room is in complete chaos.

  2. I'm jump happy. I jump as a greeting when meeting a random in the world. Or I jump just for fun. This tip was helpful though. My first run through a dungeon the tank jumped on a spot he wanted the party to stand for his pull.

  3. god yes run things to the tank, if you aggroed due to regen aggro please for the love of god dont run the opposite direction i will never understand why that is the first instinct. just walk to the tank and wait a moment for them to AOE and pick it up

  4. "Don't skip a cutscene if someone is watching…"

    Getting SWTOR flashbacks from this.
Trying to watch a cutscene and people like "vote to skip." and if you don't, they get all angry and toxic. My favourite was always "I've seen it" and the inarticulate rage that followed if you replied with "yea? I haven't." was oft-times quite funny to watch though.

But pretty frequently I've seen people in FFXIV in a full fight after I've been watching a cut scene. They don't say anything usually; even if they cause the wipe. Sometimes the tank is all "why no heal?" but they're pretty understanding if you just tell them that you were watching the cut scene. xD

  5. I had the Cutscene thing happen to me last night. When i got out of the cutscene i went right back into one and it was dead…i don't even remember who the boss was…

  6. "Don't pull on your own, let the tank pull" OMG THIS! I just came back after a few years (started at the beginning of stormblood with a few friends) played till 30 and fell off. Jumped back in and since i was levelling two tanks i figured id do a quick lowest level rando to knock the rust off. AND OF COURSE the … monk, i think, immediately starts running ahead and pulling before each pack is even dead. Dude completely ignored the sprout icon i left up because im 'new' again. Yeah, its a low level dungeon, but when im still figuring out my abilities i dont want to worry about panicking over the new group of 4 that just rolled up while these 4 are still alive.

After the 3rd or 4th time… i just let him face tank till he was almost dead before hitting a button.

  8. Your third point is what happened to me in the final mission with the 8 player dungeon, they went so far ahead that me and another player didn't get to participate because we had no idea where they went and only got to participate in the final boss fight we got warped :/

  9. Actually if someone new is running the deep dive floor 1-30 I'd say. Just let the new guy kill stuff. Just because if you don't lvl then your Just keeping skills from yourself to use later. Makes the floor 50 fight easier at least

  10. 2:56 I started FFXIV this week, and I was in a dungeon (the manor thing ? somewhere around lv30) and I was watching cinematic and when I got control of my character, I saw that the tank had started the boss, realised I wasn't there, and written a good 10 lines of apology in the chat haha

Coming from other games (such as Lol), it's very nice to see a community that actually understands that new players want to watch cinematics and stuff

  11. New player perspective here: They really need to remove the "undersized" party option. There's no way to have the authentic clearing experience. I can just… 'skip' it if a level 80 joins

  12. I've had bad experiences when starting this game 12 days ago, a group of vets kicked me for watching cutscenes and not knowing mechanics, instead now I just skip cutscenes and solo 70 ex trails because mount farming parties disband as soon as the leader gets it. Duty Finder wise I've never understood how party finders worked until after shb, so I pretty much did a bunch of dumb extreme trials synced with randoms, good times, I dont think theres anything wrong with exploring dungeons fully, ex deep dungeons I understand they're long but as an avid dark souls player you need to explore every crevice and always worth it.
