my first real attempt ended at floor 176 – my goal was the title you get for clearing floor 100! Super proud of that 😀

there are pots for potd! u should use them!
If you play brd/mch/dnc (+ tanks, I guess), you can interrupt the Mimics with a silence so you don't need to get pox'ed. While most people would go mch because of the damage, maybe bard would be better for prog while you relearn stuff/get silver chests? Not only do you have access to the silence, but also you can remove status effects with Warden's Paean every so often. Let me know if it works against the pox because I haven't tried that ❤️
Also, IIRC, there's supposed to be less chances of traps if you walk by the edge of the rooms. Oh, and pull mobs into corridors if you can (no traps there), just remember to watch out for patrols!

I never did Necromancer, but the Stormblood version of PotD is Heaven-on-High (the big Jenga tower in Ruby Sea). If you clear it 4 times (highest is floor 100) you can get a rare mount. I did a 4-person fixed party with me and my friends. Now with our horses, two of them are going for the solo clear title for it. "Lone Hero"
As for a strat to break down the big task, I farmed floor 21-30 to cap my aetherpool to +99. (used it to level other jobs 60-70). Like you were talking about power-gating, you are in struggle territory if you aren't aetherpool synced on the middle floors.
My pals were saying they'd feel really overwhelmed trying to climb the tower solo. They thought it was really helpful to have those 4 times to practice with all the bosses and their mechanics.
Looking forward to the progress, and if you decide it's not worth the pain, there's no harm in stepping away for a while and coming back later.
I kind of like this style of video. Not the progress part itself, but the Cob Talks part. I can watch any random gamer stream their runs, but a nice open chat, introspective video has its own charms, too. Where else are we gonna find Monkey Trauma, People Who Miss Childhood Are Liars, and talk about one of the most creatively vulnerable parts of writing: letting someone else see.

Couple little RDM-specific tips I see you could use.
1) Try not to weave in oGCDs between the spells of a Dualcast pair. Doing that clips the GCD (only by a little, but still, it adds up, and pretty quick at the rate you're doing it). So do like Jolt-Verthunder-Fleche instead of Jolt-Fleche-Verthunder.
2) 9:25 Your melee attacks are all instant cast, so you can move around freely while doing them (you just have to stay in melee range). So when the one monkey was throwing its poop at you and you were meleeing the camel, you could have just walked out of the AoE while continuing to attack.
3) 13:23 That's a… generally incorrect use of Manafication. Don't break the combo with Manafic, just finish it entirely and build up again to 40/40, then double that to 80/80 for another full combo. In this specific case it may actually have been worth it, because of how soon the fight was ending and you being locked to level 60, but in general don't do that, and definitely don't in the higher levels – +it was 100% the wrong way to use it at 20:35, 21:11 is the right way to do it instead.
Can't really give any PotD tips, it's not really my kind of content usually. I've done one solo run to 100 on WHM, but died on like floor 22 to fighting a special mob and having two regular enemies spawn on me, so no going further than that 😡 Good luck with it! Bring HQ echo drops to get rid of silence!
Good luck on this. 180 is where most people usually fall. But luckily rdm gets it pretty easy. For sure you'll need +99 though for 100+ floors.

Not something i myself would be trying anytime soon, but it is a neat title to have so go for it!
And i don't mind u showing your progress, might give it a go one day myself based on it.
I'd say the most important things are staying close to the walls since traps almost never spawn there, try to fight in halls as much as possible, avoid opening chests unless you're fully healed (and be prepared for ANY chest to be a mimic), and buy sustaining potions with potshards- they've saved many a spicy pull/boss fight. I liked this video and hope it gets enough interaction to warrant a continuation of the series. I think solo potd/hoh might be on my list for downtime activities during EW. I've wanted to give it a go for awhile, but always have other things I want to do more lol.

I hope I do not sound like a dick or something but The Necromancer title is actually somewhere around the 35th rarest title in the game and not the rarest. Do not get me wrong it is still a very rare title but there are some titles that are just insanely rare. As example the rarest non PVP title is only owned by 0.01% of players. (I excluded the rarest PVP titles because they require reaching rank 1 on your server which makes them automatically rare since only 1 person per server per ranked season can earn those titles)
One advice i would give you is to bring potions that remove negative status like Echo Drops, etc….they are extremely cheap! Cuz if you step in one of those silence traps later on, u ded hahaha
