  1. This is a new content that they're testing out, so it's normal that they'd keep it simple with a single encounter for now. Later on, they might enhance it to be a full alliance raid with the usual 2 trash mobs and 4 bosses.

  2. Personally, I am unimaginably excited for a potential ShB Chaotic Raid. I want Yoko Taro himself to reach through the screen to kill me, feel his hands close around my neck as Her Influorescence does the same to my character.

  3. I'm sorry folks, the copium in this vid is all I can stand.

The Alliance Raid chaotic, is a 24 person trial. And just like Rion mentioned, it reminds them of the news of the variants and the savage versions of those

    Remember how those turned out?

Barely anyone did them save the extreme tryhards, plus severely underdeveloped rewards to entire anyone to do them. This is going to be a repeat. First week, lots of people will try it, then the second they learn the fight is without meaningful rewards and/or the mechs are pure nonsense, it will be forgotten.

I would LOVE, truly love to be proven wrong. I'm batting a thousand with this dev team.

  4. For loot system: i am hoping it is something like, you get currency for rewards for your weekly clear, and also get currency for each player in the raid that havent cleared once and also that havent got their weekly clear too, so you are incentivice to keep running it with groups of people that haven't cleared once and even that week

  5. yoshida going out of his way to mention it having a unique reward structure has me more excited than anything else, especially after criterion was kind of a dud in EW to the broader playerbase specifically because of that

"Giving incentive to clear repeatedly and help out" implies that it won't just be a weekly clear kind of thing, which is great. ilvl 730 gear from it would be reason enough for players to flock to it, though I also think you need other stuff. Framer kits are always nice, a mount, various other cosmetics. Considering how much people did not care about Criterion, you need to offer more than you might think the content deserves in order to make it really tantalizing

  6. Thunder God Chaotic: No boss mechanics. Instead, you have to listen to the entirety of his dialogue, which has been expanded to 12x the original amount of spoken dialogue.

If you start to drift off to sleep or get bored, the entire raid wipes.

  7. More raids. Yawn.
I look forward to logging in each week, doing the raid then feeling I have nothing worthwhile to do for the next six days.

Raids are fine but they aren’t newsworthy. Or even notable anymore. We expect them. They happen. Sunrise sunset.

I’ll play it but I have zero excitement for something which is a known quantity.

  8. Super excited for 24 man trial that will last two weeks because rewards will be not actual gear but another useless fluff like flying toilet mount. I really recommend people who feel like this game is creatively bankrupt to check new WoW expansion, it might be not best thing ever but miles ahead of this "RP hub pretending to be MMO" game.

  9. Would just like to remind you that there is also the live letter digest which gives, while not a complete translation, a more official stance on what they want to actually have said. While I don't think there's much too different in this one, it's nice to have some more solid confirmations:

"This new duty is designed for 24 players and will be close to Savage in difficulty. Since Chaotic alliance raids require a lot of resources to develop, we don’t have a release schedule for future iterations, like “one per patch” or “every other patch.” It’s a new endeavor for us, so if our players show interest in these Chaotic alliance raids, that’s when we’ll start planning a new one. For now, we hope you’ll enjoy the Cloud of Darkness (Chaotic)!

Although we’ve called it an “alliance raid,” the duty features a boss battle with no enemy encounters along the way. We imagine our players have become quite familiar with the Cloud of Darkness through the normal alliance raid, but this Chaotic version has quite a few tricks up their sleeve.

This Chaotic alliance raid will have unique rewards and a reward system that will be friendly for those looking to help others clear, as well as features to make matchmaking easier. Details will be announced alongside gameplay in the next Letter LIVE."

  10. I’m all for more end game content, esp rewarding ones. Simply bothers me for the amount of bank SE makes of this title that they aren’t putting it out more often. I’m not one for quantity over quality but they rarely even hit the quality benchmark. This game could be sooooo much better then it is / offer soooo much more but the devs continue to piecemeal content and the players take what they can get. As it stands I login for a couple hours on Tuesday to clear m1s-m4s and have nothing left to do for a week. Give me more reasons / incentive to play!

  11. I am so excited about how these could potentially go. Endwalker's Alliance raid is something that comes to mind, because I could even see that thing expanded into an Ultimate, let alone Chaotic alliance raids. There's so much cool indepth possibility behind that we could really see something wonderful. Also if there are options to go outside of final fights of final tiers, Yiazmat is probably one of the most fitting given his notorious mechanics from 11, That first spinning boss in Puppets Bunker had some really cool mechanics that could be pushed a little further, or maybe even merged with Compound 2P to make a hellish multiphase boss with as many purple orbs as Mr. Yoko Taro can convince is necessary.

My only caveat (and also the true reason I don't believe we'll be getting just upgrade materials from here), I do not expect this first Chaotic Alliance raid to drop until 7.15 . We still have Ultimate and much more content to come, releasing both of these at the same time for raiders isn't the smartest idea. So while I am looking forward to it, I am doing so with the expectation that it'll be in 3 months time from now. I do worry that some expect this to go live with 7.1 and I just hope they know to hold their horses, or whatever expansion appropriate mount theme they may feel.

  12. I do hope with the FFXI Raid they learn to use the trash mobs as a way to "teach" mechanics before facing a boss, that way you are mindful of what mechanics can occur and be ready for it without it being shown to you in a drip feed from the actual boss.

  13. Personally I don't want Eulogia as much as I want Althik and Nymea. I want a two boss, three party alliance raid that really lets the devs sink their teeth into what two bosses means for an encounter.

  14. A good example of content that they designed as repeatable is Fetes in the Ishgard Restoration. Boxes with mounts, bardings, minions, funishings, emotes, hairstyles, glamours… most of it isn't unique to fetes (though there's a unique mount/emote, and glam) but it's a good way to get them, and tokens to guarantee specific rewards after a certain number of runs. Dyes for tokens also make it at least somewhat profitable forever. I'm at least expecting some kind of first time bonus, or rewards scaling with new players.

  15. I don't think I'm gonna be able to get enough people for a Chaos Raid (Chaotic* Chaos sounds cooler)
And Savage isn't really something you "Queue up for" – It feels more like content that was made with JP in mind since they do savage in their roulettes… but for everywhere else? Ehhh…

  16. I wish I was this optimistic about 7.1. Like me and the FC will try out the Savage Alliance Raid, and we'll continue our Savage progression (we're pretty casual with raiding so we started very late). The extreme and unreal might be fun.

But for others, there will be hardly anything to do. My husband doesn't really do Extremes and definitely not Savage, there will be hardly anything for them to do, and they're already barely playing the game as it is.

Glad more content is being produced but it would be nice for there to be content for casuals too. I was hopeful Criterion might've been a midcore bridge but it was far too difficult and more like Savage content, and died a death. I am sadly not surprised to hear the news they already think they might've gone overboard with the Chaotic Alliance Raid.

  17. Chaotic can be such a wealth of interesting new fights. Amon, Xande, Phlegethon, Diabolos, Thunder King, fucking ULTIMA THE HIGHT SERAPH! All fights that deserve a 'proper' version.

  18. For streamers and content creators in general, Chaotic raids will be fun for sure. For the rest of us folks, I fear it'll end up like DRS and BA and be relegated to discord-exclusive content. The supposedly repeatable nature of it, which I'm not going to praise before I see the actual reward structure, might help keep the content alive for longer but only time will tell.

I just don't see hard 24-man content being pf compatible for more than a week or so, I just hope the actual release proves me wrong.

  19. literally the only thing that worries me is the matchmaking. I'm a Materia player and queueing for normal Alliance Raids is already somewhat difficult, so a Chaotic one? As much as I love the concept I hope this is actually feasible.
