There’s two communities in Final Fantasy XIV, the ones you interact with in game, and the ones you interact with outside of the game.

Not going to lie, I loved your chat during this video. It was fantastic.
Pyro takes things way too seriously.
Also, there has to be others like me who don't really like the current array of FFXIV content creators. Don't care for Zepla, starting to not watch Xenosys, Mr. Happy has a couple issues when it come to savage and I just don't mesh with that creator, the YouTube "guides" other than the MTQ are usually fluffed to 10 min.
Infamous and famous are not the same Pyro.
Ya, fuck this guy. Dude needs help.
He will probably just do another video apologizing and saying he’s going to work on is temper, for like the fifth time. Then will do it all over.
did you forgot that they had to drop ps3 support …. yes, sooner or later… consoles hold back everything.
love my controller on pc
It's not that Pyro rages and talks shit about the game that makes people dislike him. Xeno talks plenty shit and people still like him.
Pyro's problem is that he's being such a little bitch about it. He is thin-skinned so he goes off at even slight provocations. His attitude is passive aggressive and petulant and it makes him sound whiny when he gets angry. He is a grown man, but acts like a teenager.
In short, Pyro doesn't need to rage less. He needs to grow a beard and get some man energy.
Pyromancer lives in his own headspace too much. Rather than with an anonymous chat, he needs to talk to real people to get an actual feel for the community. He really thinks that a half dozen people in chat constitutes the entire community.
And the consoles ARE inferior. That is not up for debate. They have always been and always will be technologically inferior. FFXIV got it’s biggest graphical upgrades when PS3 support was ended. That is not a coincidence. Controllers also will inherently limit the number of actions, so they will not be able to increase the number of abilities/skills. It is what it is.
People not watching new content creators is not true. Look at Grinding Gear, Quazii or HeatherJustPlay. Those are fast new growing channels around Final Fantasy XIV. Not to be rude, but if your content is attractive enough, you'll get your viewers and your channel grows.
I would totally tune in to pyro’s stream again if he started playing other story-based games, maybe something like xenoblade
3 or many others. I liked him playing ffxiv for his reactions to the big moments in the story, and that seems to be what he enjoys as well, so I don’t see why he doesn’t seek that out from other games. Seems like the same thing that happened to him with WoW
in terms of ff my input opinion is Keyboard & mmo mouse > controller > keyboard and default mouse
There are top quality streamers out there which are underrated – please do check them when you can and see if you like them:

* Preach https://www.youtube.com/c/Preachgaming
* Heather https://www.youtube.com/c/HeatherJustPlay
A little explanation about MrHappy and why people might not like him. He has this very, very subtle condescending behaviour that might rub people the wrong way. They might not even realize it but its there.
Im fine with him, i even ask questions sometimes for his weekly Q&A, but i definitely notice this sometimes.
people that watch ff14 mainly watch end game raiding and msq. like watching people play the msq for the 1st time. i think the issue is pyro thinks all the emotion farmers will stick around forever when again watch msq for the emotions and watch people new to the game and have fav people to watch patch content as you cant really watch 30 people play patches. but you slowly watch 30 people play the game from arr till the end.
I think when he said "I shot myself in the foot with this community" he meant his reputation. Now he's known as the rage streamer and there's little to nothing he can do about it now.
Waiiiiit a second!
I thought the FF14 was the most wholesome, welcoming and non toxic ever, but you are now telling me that they aren't?!
IMAGINE MY SHOCK!
4:00 That's a pretty dumb argument my dude. Just because someone is good with a controller doesn't mean anything other than these person is good with a control, and probably would be even better with a K&M if they were as used to it than they are with the controller.
Edit: Oh god, you actually do believe that controllers are as good to K&B… despite being able to list the obvious clear down sides it has.
That's some top tier double think if I've ever seen one.
yeah you hit the nail on the head, you've basically said all the things that i also think on the subject. It's easy for him to sit there and go "oh they were all butthurt because i insulted console/controller players" but it seems like he's failing to acknowledge he was wrong in the first place, I completed my first ultimate on console, it is possible to play at the highest level on console, sure it might not look quite as good and theres framerate drops (which i hear is bad on p8s at the moment). I imagine the game is probably doing really well in terms of sales and number of subscriptions on console because it's not even competing against wow on console, its competing against elder scrolls online, warframe, black desert online and genshin. So i imagine a sizable chunk of the monthly revenue ff14 makes is from people who are exclusively playing on console, which is good for everybody because the more profitable the game is the more likey it is for SE to give them more funding
people just have to admit: the FFXIV community online, the one outside of the game, is toxic. they attack anyone that criticizes the game fairly or unfairly, and anyone who doesn't abide by the groupthink. they've attacked misshapen chair for moaning about kaiten, and not his arguments but his person, saying things like "oh he's so angry" or "oh he's such a downer". they've attacked asmon when he played the game day 1. they've attacked zepla when zepla collaborated with asmon. the list goes on and on and on. from ginger prime, to mr happy, to sfia, to xeonsys, to arthars, to lucy pyre, to quazii if you're a content creator and you have ideas or criticisms, you're on the chopping block.
it's a gigantic highschool clique. with pariahs and untouchables that people treat like voldemort. it's MMO Mean Girls, and if you aren't in with the clique in LunarCon, you'll get righteous gatekeeping karens "protecting the commnunity" headed your way. you're the one who's toxic, and you have to be expunged. filthy rat.
Didn't Square already abandon FF14 on PS3 in order to be able to improve the game further!?
With most things I subscribe to the idea that there is a ‘silent-majority’. That most of a population of something simply enjoys that something without much fuss unless it goes completely sideways.
A lot of the noise simply comes from a minority position with an unhealthy investment or nothing much better to do.
Oh my god a Paragon controller.
I miss Paragon man
I cannot stand a lore content creator that makes terrible hot takes with unfounded theories and then rages at his audience when they object.
Idm raging streamers. I watched Pyros journey through SB and into ShB. Tbh though just his general demeaner is combative and negative while also claiming to be a victim. No one thing made me walk away and I have no hate towards him but I definitely soured over time. Still would love to see his lore videos. Just not his streams.
Pyro was genuinely liked in the beginning, he expressed some of the opinions a lot of the wow-refugees have. However he just couldn't get away from being angry all the time. He picked up every bait from chat and got angry at it and the thing is, the FF community in general doesn't like toxic behavior and constant raging is toxic. That meant fewer and fewer people who were genuinely nice watched his streams and only the rage baited trolls remained which lead to more outrage from him, which led him to some seriously bad takes.
The final thing is that while the controller take was bad, it wasn't until reports of DMCA takedowns came out i think the community turned against him, he had a bad take and he should own to it, instead he issued DMCA takedowns, which hurt other creators and it is just petty. After that i believe his channel basically died, because it wasn't trustworthy in the community any longer.
Also the reason his rant is the most watched is likely because as the big Rich/Asmon movement from WoW to FFXIV happened it was being watched by the big streamers constanly.
Mouse and keyboard are better at movement and ui navigation. Controller is better at accessing abilities in combat because of the shoulder keys (unless keyboard and mmo mouse)
I can't speak for anyone but myself, but I was excited for all the YOUTUBE content Pyro could produce after he catch up, doing theory videos, lore lessons and tying knots to guide people into the big picture. Because that's what he was famous for in wow (never watched him on wow, but I knew his fame).
I stopped following him on Twitch after he openly admit to trigger ads during hype moments to force people to sub, and never returned. And then he left his YouTube channel to rot, and is doing lore and theories at random moments during his live stream.
It's entirely his fault why I stopped looking his way, and none of that was because he "raged" or had "controversial opinions".
Stopped watching Pyro because of his Personality before he ever set foot into Stormblood.
Preach is a funny variety streamer playing through all FFs for reference and series evolution.
GrindingGear are 2 down to earth dudes double streaming with their own podcast and 1 video per week.
I like FF14 but ff14 Andy streamers don't interest me.
It honestly feels like he wants 1 thing while acting another out on another thing. He wants to be the new ethys, he wants to be a 14 lore guy. He goes on podcasts with Moose and talks lore and wants to fill in that slot but… he mutes his chat and tells them to shut up when he's wrong about some plot points, he lashes out very often and now he's comparing himself to xeno and arthas in this video.
He says some streamers can rage and it's great but not him. People who watch xeno love his rages because that's what they're there for. Ppl started out hating xeno for years but he just powered thru it and built his community. But ppl who watch xeno don't care about the story or the lore, they're there for the raids and the man mode, but he's not doing those things he wants to talk about why the aetherial flow of the 1st is different from the flow of the 13th and the kind of people that want to listen to that don't want to list to baby rage over if you're right or not. It's like he wants happys viewers while acting like xenos. And that ain't gonna happen
I remember when he was going thru the end of heavensward he was talking about he was told that thordan is an original story and not based off any other ff game, and someone in his party was like no it's from ff7. So he was yelling at his party and then started asking if it was or not but his chat was in emote only. And 1 other guy was in discord or something cause you could hear someone else talking and they were like nah thordan is from14 he's not in any other game. So chat spammed the smile face and h le raged at chat to do something more interesting than smiling. And I was like who thebfuck is this guy? After 20 minutes of this the guy he was with admitted to never playing ff7 so he wasn't sure. And like this was an easy fix but pyro will be pyro I guess.
All Pyro needs to do is lighten up, stop judging things so fast (cause he ends up with objectively inaccurate hot takes), and just actually dive into the game and share that passion with his viewers. That's literally all he has to do. I'd love to see more dedicated lore videos from him.
Rui, you gonna watch the entire 14 hour live letter next month?
Pyro gets perpetually stunlocked by his own chat. Dude clearly has a really hard time just letting chat comments he doesn't agree with just go by and not pay them any mind. Someone says something he doesn't like, and he loses his fcking mind because how dare someone say something silly or disagree with him. WeirdChamp.
There's also the third community that just hangs out on the lodestone and act like complete assholes to each other.
Pyro strikes as someone who suffers from either "borderline personality disorder" or "histrionic personality disorder" due to how unstable his emotions are. He really needs to learn to keep his frustrations to himself when he streams if he wants to mend his reputation. I'm aware that's easier said than done but those are my two cents.
I first got introduced to Pyro through Warcraft lore videos. I hated WoW the game, but loved its lore (pre-BFA) and art external to the game, so I watched a lot of Nobbel. YouTube recommended me Pyro's videos after a while and I never liked them as much because it was mostly wild speculation and there was something about him that seemed like he forced excitement.
When he made the jump to FFXIV, I gave him another chance, but never liked his content. He always seemed disingenuous and like he was overacting. I think his personality puts off a lot of people so he attracts a lot of hate.
As for not watching new creators, I watch a lot of different people. I just don't watch streams. You, Preach, Lucy Pyre, Misshapen Chair, and a few more. I actually tend to avoid everyone you named outside of MTQ 😂
I still like Pyro
I really think the "outside" community are the hard core first week Savage clearers and Ultimate goers. They have their way of playing the game and most of the time, they know their shit.
But how Savage and Ultimate players play the game is not how 95% of the players play the game, and some can not accept this. They are horrible to have in dungeon groups, rage quit if you have a lmao moment in old content like World of Darkness, and hunt down videos on Youtube declaring that they should not do x in y.
They are the hardcore consumers of FF content. That 5% probably watch 80% of non MSQ related content. So if you have a difference of opinion on what is optimal, they will come and get ya.
I feel like Quazii broke through in FF but maybe im biased cause I watch most of his videos
I did like him when he first started streaming, but it was around the 2nd outburst where it stopped being fun to watch.
When I said Pyro will create drama again, some people said no… this is what this guy does. Mess up, apologize, repeat. It gets old.
Man, every time you mention that healer video, I get so triggered. I died in a level synced dungeon just yesterday. I was levelling a new Gladiator when I got into a Halatali through levelling roulette. I died first pull and the last thing I saw as my health trickled down to zero was the healer casting stone. Seriously, not a single healing spell was cast before I died, and it took me a good 20+ seconds to die after I used all my defensive cooldowns. If it was WoW, I'd have started a vote to kick right there, but it's FF14, so we say nothing and move on. We just silently curse that idiot who queues as healer but thinks their 1 button dps rotation is too important to waste time on heals.
