  1. Ff14 is amazing man I can’t wait for all the new content I’ve been going strong as a Paladin for as long as I can remember the new jobs aren’t for me but so think it’s mad they they’re in the game

  2. I love this game and agree they're very good about feeedback. But there is one area in which they've gotten consistent feedback and seem to keep ignoring it or even making the problem worse, and that's healer DPS. There's many aspects of Dawntrail I'm looking forward to eagerly, but man, they have got to do something to make healers more interesting to play during periods of low damage, especially with groups out there clearing the hardest content in the game without even bringing a healer. It's just frustrating when their big competitor in WoW consistently makes interesting, varied styles of healing which incorporates damage into the healing.

    People got so excited over the Sage's ability to convert damage into healing, just for it to have the same usual basic spammable nuke, spammable AoE nuke, and DoT, except with an extra button they need to keep on cooldown and a healing cooldown that also does area damage. And the damage-to-healing aspect is basically just taking the place of the SCH fairy.

  3. My biggest gripe with FFXIV, is that there seems to be more and more of jobs getting similar. Having played DRK since it came out, it feels more like warrior than what it originally was. And having started healing for my FC, I've also noticed how… DPSing as a healer is bare bones, but all this might just be cause I have, and still do, play a lot of WoW, where class playstyles are a lot more varied. I still wish we'd get a tank in XIV that works like Blood DK, it was what early DRK seemed to go towards, but not so much anymore. And getting a brewmaster-esque tank would be amazing.

  4. I love FFXIV to death. I have over 12000 hours in it now. But I am also exceptionally careful not to buy into any hype, because the past two expansions have significantly burned me and destroyed my preferred playstyle. Twice.
    Right now, I'm expecting the third coming. Because if it ends up not happening, or gods forbid: I get a return to form, then I can only be excited when that happens. At worst, all I could say is: "see, I told you so", rather than be burned a third time.
    Like with any game, don't buy into the hype. It's okay to be excited and look forward to it, but don't ever set expectations, because you can only end up disappointed in some way. That's my general bit of advice.

  5. Agreed. FF14: ARR is a cohesive 10-year old game but it doesn't feel old or outdated at all, and it scales well with different hardware so lots of people can play it. That's how you do it developers.

  6. Dawn Trail thing I’m worried about is Pictomancer. Job is horrid, silly, job aesthetic doesn’t fit, and is dumb as F. The warrior of light will be laughed at as they ride into battle on a paintbrush….

    Literally, everything else looks intriguing .
