Topics and discussions have been springing up all over the FFXIV community since the showcase, but most revolve around this one idea, that Zenos has a new Scythe weapon, signifying him as a possible new job for 6.0.
FFXIV: Is Zenos the new Scythe Wielding Melee DPS?
Thanks for watching my video!
My channel is focused on player perspective content and gameplay based around #MMORPG games, specifically but not limited to #finalfantasyxiv and Eve Online.

its pretty obvious that zenos's new weapon is a scythe. He wants to kill the WoL and what better way to do it then with scythe as a the awakened/alaghan/ascian class
Necromancer, Necromancer as Melee DPS isn't unreasonable. it fits, the Sythe, it fits Yoshi's hint and everything.
Reaper confirmed.
I'm thinking engineer from ff4.
My out of the world gamble bet is this will be Templar. I think there was a small mention of them in the story some where, but that is gonna be my guess of the melee class.
The Lunar Whale is a FF4 reference.
Going to the moon is a FF4 reference.
Ran'jit had a shadow dragon companion, which is a FF4 reference to Golbez.
Ran'jit turned the shadow dragon into a scythe in a few fight scenes.
With these things going on, I'd say that we are going to get a shadow dragon based class that will be melee switching from unarmed 'tag team' attacks to 'scythe mode' onslaughts.
Livia's class is melee dps class and she is from garlemald… maybe?
i do agree Zenos is the new class and his outfit is the same as the one class outfit shown within the endwalkers first talk show. Since Zenos is a guy who has died taken a body and regain his body. Most likely he is the new scythe dps class
I could see this as Apex, a melee focus with a spirit beast magic burst. Keep in mind Ranjit had that dragon familiar that boosted him. So this could be a beast master spin off
Maybe Scythe will be a weapon for new job but I think this wont happen in next expansion. Garleans had Gunblades from the ARR and Players got this weapon from SHB.
The hammer wielding templar dream is dead ;_;
Tbh i would prefer a judge class inspired by FF12
Something like Gabranth's twin blades
The similar look of Garlemald and the Archadian empire is kinda striking since the start of ARR, especially the armors and even more so with some latest additions of level 80 armors that look even more like the judges (like Law's order armor sets which even the name is a bit on the nose)
For the skills i would see something like the Ninja mudras but with actual hits with the blades instead of noodle signs
And depending of said combo with the blades and your stance (staff-sword or twin blades) you could get access to certain spells
Like say a simplified 5 hit combo with 3 or 4 possibilities would be very cool to play and learn to play
As for an example of skill you can just look at Dissidia's Gabranth
I would prefer to leave farming tools for the botanists or some joke farmer glamour with WAR and Edda's scythe
– If you're looking on "how he might've got the idea", look at Armuat of Star Ocean 4, you may have a bit of more clues there too 😉
Take a look at the deepshadow weapon for the Black Mage
Bloodborne
The job is obviously gonna be called either Harbinger or Reaper. 👀
It could be a warpick as well which is similar to a scythe in design
And Ranjit was a BEASTMASTER.
Never been a fan of scythes. So incredibly weak looking and flimsy.
definitely going to be a death/scythe based class, maybe with dark magic or even minions, would fit with the reveal of hinting around necromancers
He has to be is going to be something dumb like death bringer or end walker
