I wanted to see the gear from Aglia with two dye channels. At first I commented about the metal parts, but those are the dyeable parts we have now. But I would love to be able to dye the cloth parts as well.
Showing all these makes me wonder if they actually put in effort. Like maybe they used AI to decide what the second dye channel was, and all the effort that was put in by a human was just the coding
Kinda made me feel a lot of the secondary channel dyes are lazy work. Buttons? Stitches? Tassels? Seriously??
Makes me really miss GW2's 4 dye channels. So many of these examples would be amazing with 3-4 dye channels. Something like the draped top would have the shirt, belt, scarf, and scarf accent all on their own channels and would be so much more versatile.
The grunts at the CU3 art deparrtment phoned in the work for the dye channels for quantity, not quality.
Augmented Quetzalli Kite Shield I'm really disappointed in how this dyes
Idk why you keep using the term "thoughtful" instead of just saying you don't like it.
I agree on some of these opinionwise, but I think they probably put a lot of thought into the hundreds of hours it takes to reconfigure how the textures re-color. These all make sense to me, even if I don't personally like how they look.
They should NOT have rushed this graphics update out the door alongside an expansion. They cut corners, didn’t give their all to every detail, and still ended up having to promise that they’ll finish it in parts. Now we’re suck with this in-between and disappointing state of things.
For me, it's the DRK shadowbringers Relic armor, more specifically, the foot gear and the body armor. Would have preferred to dye the badge with the tassel red.
I assume the clothes are separate by parts and the button and the rest of the pants are the only separated parts of that clothing, so they just have to write one code for every game object.
Its a very low effort way of handling this I also guess future items will be designed to work better with this code an possibly they edit the old items at some point but tbh they make certain decisions that I think are bad or low effort and never correct them, I actually only started modding my game because when I looked at my feet before the Graphical update they looked like a piece of wood… that made me upset so I started modding my game to have a different body model / textures and I had toes ! No more wood feet! Then they did the Graphical update YEARS LATER and now we got toes so… they maybe just need many years to do anything x_x also I am not into toes I just feel like if your character looks like a wooden block its not immersive and I just kept thinking about it once I seen it
3rd dye channel whenn😭
time to go a step further. Make a glam showcase video where you try to make the best outfits possible with these odd 2-dye pieces using wild colour combinations and bonus points for using multiple bad pieces in a glam 😀
I still can't believe someone on the dev team looked at the Noir Longcoat and said "sure, for the second dye channel we could make it so they can alter the super prominent red inner lining of the coat, but you know what would be even better? Letting them change the tie's color, so that it can clash super hard if they dye it anything other than red, white, or black. :D"
is this game worth getting as a first ff game?
The I think it's called Hannish Wool or something top. I wanted the corset to dye separately, or to match with the base colour you dye the shirt itself bc I hate the like gray over dyed-colour of the corset as it stands and instead they made the second dye channel there be the like… trim?
the crazy thing about the faerie tie princess set, the skirt has one dye channel but the gloves in the same set has two. and yes, the gloves and skirt have the same accent aesthetic, so, it just makes it confusing???? my gloves have accents that can be dyed and they will ALWAYS look metallic but my skirt can't even have that same treatment??? this just further proves how the textures must be the basis for the dye channels because some of the choices for the 2nd dye channel hinge on that common malice or incompetence scale.
I just saw that GW 2 finally relesed an housing system..and it look better than the FFXIV one.
I hope, I really hope they're working on it. I wont be surprised they'll add more double dyes on other pieces, which is expected, but I really hope they will put a second toughts on few specific items. I can understand that the mindset when they built those pieces before had no "double dye" in mind but what i'm surprised is that Endwalker pieces, the inside team should have known that it was a feature coming up and they could anticipated it, but some pieces are weirdly dyed ! Oh well. I'm glad i'm not alone on the boat. Thanks for the video Aitherea
Girl this is the most based video I ever seen lol 🤍
Yea…. I feel like common sense was missing on allot of things tbh
