OMG why you did that i am crying like a baby AWESOME VID darling TY
I love this. These songs have such deeper meaning once you understand where the lyrics come from. Hope you continue to do more of the games songs, there's many I'd love to see the meaning behind!
fuckin beautiful. The edits to showcase what is being said on top of the on point glam for the dunesfolk. You did lalafells a good justice to their lore. Sharing this in discords.
"May those who wander paths in the dark find firelight," hit hard. I'm bawling at work. Hadn't heard that lyric before, since I'm usually trying not to die in the fight.
That was a great watch, thank you~
The god of the two things men cannot run away from.
Death and Taxes.
Fantastic video! I loved the clip selection and editing backing up the lyrics.
One tidbit on the lyrics that I always appreciated that wasn't highlighted, is the way that the pauses in the line "Life Death will follow" after "Life" and "Death" facilitate twin readings of it.
1. Life Death will follow -> Death follows Life
2. Life, Death, will follow -> Life follows Death
It's a cycle in two parts, like Nald'Thal's rotating top half! 😀
Lyrics that pay THIS much attention to such deep lore is something really special. It feels like a one-in-a-million sort of thing where the developers truly care about their own lore AND have enough money to put towards making music that shows it off.
This song was absolutely amazing to experience the first time and I was tanking the boss lol can't wait to hear the words behind Dedicated to Moonlight. and Can't wait to see what the ffxiv team cook up for the final raid boss.
I patiently await the day you cover Shivas Eden theme. It's my favorite theme in all Final Fantasy
If someone would have told me months ago, that I would shed tears for the little guys, I would have been rapid-firing on that x for doubt. Once more an in-depth analysis of already amazing musical numbers has successfully (and positively, unpredictably) moved me. Hundreds times thank you for this upload, Elio! — and all the time, effort, adoration, and steadfast determination to keep going with these projects. It's incredible stuff! Give yourself a big pat on the back! This is another lyrical lore to be proud of. It has been a gift and delight to take in. ~Paya "Lost in BG3" Chauveau
I'm crying wth :((((
I love my dunesfolk lala
Thank you so much for making these. I love your videos, but most especially these Lyrical Lore ones. Could you do Dedicated to Moonlight in the near future since it's in the same raid series as this one? You could also talk about some of the exposition that Menphina and the others had between the raids in Coerthas when we have to go to her shrine.
I wanted to take a moment to give some love to tea, who sang the song. Her youtube is https://www.youtube.com/@teahiroshi2188 and she's pretty amazing.
As a dunesfolk WOL player…thank you for this. <3
I did the thing with reading comments first and I was like “MAN WHY ARE PEOPLE CRYING TO THE LYRICS” and now here I am typing this with tears in my eyes because I already really loved this song and hearing the lore behind it just hits me hard in my little dunesfolk kokoro. 😢
Nald'Thal are the inescapable truths – Death and Taxes.
i would like to know where you found the statues of the twins in ul'dah, i only know of the one in the black mage guild
I have to believe that the use of the word "flow" with regards to the soul (aether) finding it's destination is not just a matter of meter and rhyme.
Love that transition at 5:45s sooo cool!
