  1. i dont mind praetorium cuz the cutscenes last long enough to go afk and actually go do something else, and the xp gain from it is very good. Meriduim on the other hand is not like that and is pretty unlucky to get when you que for MSQ roulette. Would be cool if they did something with the trust system tho

  2. Let's be honest here – first 3 cutscenes are imperials sucking sid's pipe very diligently for a small…tiny… miniscule chance that he will suddenly change sides. You can cut it out and lose nothing from the narrative.

  3. for me as a sprout the first time Praetorium was fine. after the 5th run it is a slog, especially in the mid/mid-late game where you want to farm poetics. it is one of the best way to get poetics so it's recommended you to it daily and boy does it get tiring.

  4. Blizzard: Uhhhhhhhhh we'll let you level sync like one old dungeon for two weeks, depends on if we give a shit.
Yoshi-P: We know this thing has not been ideal for ages and the unskippable thing with large rewards is only a band-aid to make sure new players don't hate people, be patient, we're still working on how to rework it. Yes, this content from 8 years ago. People are still doing it fresh, we don't want their experience ruined.
Also, if they do end up making sweeping changes to these duties, I will absolutely take a Level 50-ish class and just run the new experiences just to see them. I'm that curious.

  5. I played ARR on release, and after some thinking the reason of why I stopped playing was because I felt so frustrated that I could not enjoy the story and watch the cutscenes, it was even worse the fact that you could not even enter the battle after you finish the cutscene if they already pulled the boss and you just had to sit outside watching how all the other kids have all the fun lol

  6. nice research! Cape westwind, because it is a single boss trial, is an easy fix. A iLv sync (I doubt) or drop to 4-man and some small HP/dmg ajustments and done. It'll be like a simple chimera or hydra.
CM/Prae is a whole mess: The easiest "fix" would be to put iLv sync but that would piss everybody. And any other change would piss somebody.
If they change (4-man / trust) they should balance the reward, and will piss people who use it as a leveling tool.
If they don't change, they will have to keep dealing with the entitled gamers™ and their constant whining about unskipable CS
    It is a lose-lose situation

  7. When I did it the first time a couple months ago, even if it wasn't the most fun and most enjoyable experience, it wasn't detrimental to my "new player" experience. It's not a core gameplay loop where the rest of the game is like that. I treat it as an slightly longer than average dungeon run with some breaks inbetween and do it once a day for the xp and poetics.

  8. Not to harp but your title is hella misleading on this one lol.

Patch notes: "Plan to work on this some day" "Please just wait a bit longer"

Or maybe i'm just salty that the MSQ isn't getting some love now <3

  9. Had my first Praetorium run yesterday, ended up dead becasue tanks ported with massive agro and mobs killed few people. Spend 10min dead becasue game doesn't inform you that if you want to rez while group is in combat you need to HOLD the damn "ok" button. Group didn't give a fuck about anything and gave huge amount of attitude.
    Utterly shity experience.

  10. A lot of people only thinking about their poetics and MSQ roulette xp rather than the negative impact the current version of these dungeons have on many new players experience for the culmination of the story. Changing them to 4 man dungeons or making them soloable would be a very welcome change to make sure players don’t feel rushed through what should otherwise be a very good ending to the base game

  11. Xp never changed so when you were able to skip cs got like a lvl + experience doing 10 mins worth of work. So saying xp is made so sitting through cs is worth it…. it is still a nerf when compare with time and xp required and no where equals what it was before cs lock. I have all 80s so I don't have to run through that hell whole. I just wish you could skip if no one is new instead of forced cs crap… in my eyes it was a method to time gate progression using new players as an excuse

  12. I'm so glad to hear this, I'm a tiny sprout on my way through Stormblood for the first time but I've already done the Praetorium a couple times, and it's hands down the worst content XIV has offered me so far

  13. I don't get why people complain about the Praetorium this much.
After your first time (which it now allows for people to be able to watch the cutscenes) you do NOT need to go back again unless you CHOOSE to with the MSQ roulette. And if you are CHOOSING to do it, you know what you are getting into. 45 minutes for basically a free level up.

Every day I run that dungeon there's always assholes spending the entire hour complaining how they want to skip the cutscenes and I'm sitting there hoping to god they shut up and if they hate it so much, to NOT queue.

It's the kind of people who want the same amount of EXP but with less time invested and basically fucking over the new players

  14. It was my impression they were taking the msq roulette out and making them trust versions you do on your own with npcs. I don't really like this idea really maybe its because I'm still only a few months in and I haven't done a million roulette but I like having msq roulette as an casual option to level off jobs and I'm not really a fan of trust as a melee player because if you die you wipe. There is something fun about helping people through the story and getting rewarded for doing it but trust is just solo content I feel meh about.

  15. Castrum, Prae, Singularity Reactor, Royal Menagerie and Dying Gasp all need to be a lot closer to minimum item level by defualt. There is no two ways around it, these are the climax experiences of the stories and you simply should not be able to nuke them down so fast. I'd also put the ARR and HW 24 man raids in this boat too. It's just a ruined experience now.

  16. This is Yoshi-P being really pragmatic about what is and isn't a solution. Not settling for a bandaid when he can solve the problem.

Personally, I don't see the current situation as a problem. new players going through 2 long AF dungeons with unskippable cutscenes for the sake of story is not a particularly big issue with the game(a climatic moment in a story that takes an hour and a half to go through? that's actually a pretty appropriate period of time for it). it's an issue with player mindset. the overwhelming majority of complaints are from experienced players who are in a rush because they're just trying to get a big chunk of XP via daily roulette or the 300 tomestone award and get antsy if they have to stop smashing their face against the keyboard for 2 seconds. they're not mad that it's an inappropriate amount of time, they're mad that they hit walls and can't keep rushing forward. and those two dungeons are full of walls.
