Viper is the NEW melee DPS job in Final Fantasy 14, introduced alongside the FFXIV Dawntrail expansion. Vipers use dual blades that attach in the middle to dish out damage.
Vipers hack and slash as a scouting class, sharing its gear with Ninjas. It mainly uses three-step combos while ending its combo with different skills.

Where to unlock Viper in FFXIV
Viper unlocks via a quest in Ul’dah. Before you head there, you’ll want to make sure you have met the following prerequisites:
You have one combat job at level 80 or higher.
You own the Dawntrail expansion.
Once you meet those two requirements, head over to Ul’dah, Steps of Nald and talk to the Worried Weaver NPC at the location below to accept the quest “Enter the Viper.”

Unrelated question: how do you make your own buffs / debuff inflicted on the target show next to each other like that?
For me, enemy debuffs are shown only under the target hp bar.
I honestly love what they did with Viper! No more ridiculous azz combo's while trying to remember them for all jobs! Haha
