FFXIV Warrior Guide: Level 50 – 90 in detail

In this video, I continue my walk with you through all of the weaponskills and abilities of the Warrior, continuing from Level 50 onward to level 90. Time is taken to look at how every weaponskill and ability along the way is best used, including detailing Openers and general attack rotations whenever significant changes are introduced!
Because Warrior is a relatively simple job at face value, it leaves a lot of space open to maximize and optimize on the more complex tools it does have. As such, we have plenty of space to talk about how to make use of Raw Intuition, as well as other defensive cooldowns learned! Warrior is also the weirdest tank in regards to stat priorities, so we talk a bit extra about that!

The summary also includes an attack opener as well as general rotation tips.

If you find some things are going a bit fast or a bit slow, I invite you to speed up, or slow down or even pause the video for your convenience! I will admit there are some parts of the video that have relatively large blocks of text that not everyone will be able to read while also listening, before I move on to the next subject.

  1. Warrior changes in 6.2:
    1) Maim, Storm's Eye and Storm's Path got a slight potency boost.
    2) Shake It Off applies quicker.
    3) While not a direct Warrior change, a new mechanic was implemented that makes attacks that are guaranteed to do Critical Hits / Direct Hits benefit from raid buffs that boost them. Whether this also applies to Direct Hit as a stat on your gear is not yet clear.

    Warrior changes in 6.1:
    1) Overpower is now a Circle AoE instead of cone.
    2) Inner Release ONLY affects Fell Cleave and Decimate, so you should no longer have to worry about accidentally wasting a stack on Tomahawk for instance. This change does not affect Berserk.
    3) The crowd control immunity inherent in Inner Release is now a separate buff it applies.

After further investigation, point 2) means that you can safely cast Infuriate (Changing Fell Cleave to Inner Chaos) whilst affected by Inner Release, as Inner Chaos is considered a separate action from Fell Cleave. You can even continue your 1-2-3 combo during Inner Release without worry. What this means for optimal openers and rotations however, I don't know yet 🙂
