I love FFXIV myself, Heavensward's story is amazing! (Though I was first hooked in ARR when I walked into the Waking Sands and the Sylph Noraxia died, and we had to carry out the bodies. I made a point to talk to every NPC after a quest checkpoint, so knowing that someone I spoke to and knew fairly well was dead, and I had to load up the body, got me really invested.)
I don't understand why Roger thinks Minfilia is dead. Has his chat been trolling him? Her becoming "The Word of the Mother" isn't the same as the other characters dying.
I am sure you have been told thousands of times before, but for square-enix, each FF14 expansion is them trying to perfect the formula for expansions, where:
ARR is the world-building expansion, resetting from the horrible 1.0 fiasco
HW is the story-telling expansion, where they learn how to tell a mmo story
SB is the dungeon expansion, where they perfected their dungeon formula, the most fun dungeons are here (but story for this expansion is a hit-or-miss for some)
then ShB and EW are continuations of those formulae, with improvements in storytelling and dungeons here and there.
Man the music for this whole scene was just amazing

If Roger ever decides to cover “Dragonsong” one day, it would be one of the most beautiful songs in the world. The song itself is already very beautiful, and it makes me cry every time, but hearing Roger sing it will make me lose it.

There's just something special about Heavensward's storytelling. The fact that you the partake in a literal Human-Dragon war like many of the older fantasy novels is such a great experience. On top of that, you meet fantastic characters and have awesome boss fights. The end where Lord Fortemps finishes writing out the story and falls asleep always gets me. Man I love this game.

Youre absolutely correct Roger. Heavensward story ends with 3.3 and 3.4-3.55 are build up for Stormblood. Every expansion is like that til Endwalker where Endwalker ends everything in this saga @ 6.0. Have an amazing journey because this story is one hands done one of the best stories in gaming period 🙂
