Right, I wrote about going to the level 10 trees, and completely forgot the Gathering Log is a thing XD

If gathering is something you enjoy, then you should definitely pick up the Fisher discipline in Limsa Lominsa

There is a check box at the bottom of the gathering window that will have you collect the entire stack of the same item.
Yellow "wheat stalks" indicate mature trees. Blue "wheat stalks" indicate lush vegetation.
Culinarian is available in Limsa Lominsa Upper Deck.

Either way with the crow feathers it'll be the same process as what you showed at the start of the video, open your gathering log and search for em there~
I would focus on the MSQ first and then bother with gatherers.
You can pick up culinarian in Limsa Lominsa, its one of my favorite professions <3 Along with Botanist and Weaver, actually. Have fun!! Oh and for that ending part there… you probably just needed to look up where the feathers were in your gathering log. It would have been nice if the quest map opens up to show you where to go though 🙁
FFXIV is very begginer friendly. Alot more than WOW, but people that come from wow are still programmed to expect it not to be easy. All the tools and help are all in there in the interface.
Fun fact: A long long time ago, the quest required 50 maple saps. And then the next quest at level 10 required 99 crow feathers. The quantity of such quests has been lowered at some point and it certainly feels a lot less tedious now!
I legit learned the most from simply chatting with people in game or with guildies ^^. I never ever used any sort of video guide or lore video and didn't ever chat about FF14 outside the game until Shadowbringers (3rd expansion) though FF14 has official ones now!
