Quazii tries Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV) for the first time in 2021 (Episode 39). Is it better than World of Warcraft (WoW)?

  1. What a ride it has been. From Eorzea to a new continent, and back to Eorzea to finish it all. I really enjoyed SB up to 4.0 – let's see what's in store in the 4.X patches!

  2. a tip for when active time manoeuvre you can combine clicking it with keyboard mashing to make it faster because on next expansion trial if you only rely on your clicking method you'll die

  3. Stormblood is a great experience, honestly. Remember when veterans say it's the weakest of the expansions, it's being compared to Heavensward and Shadowbringers. As much as I loved my time with Stormblood, I have fonder memories of bring a Dragoon main throughout Heavensward.

    We don't necessarily mean it's /bad/.

  4. I hope like you did with Heavensward, that addition to to the Stormblood MSQ patches you’ll also do the Omega Normal Raids, the 24 man Ivalice Alliance Raids, and The Four Lords trials, and Hildibrand quests.

  5. Congrats on completing 4.0!!! Honestly I agree with you with your comparisons with Heavensward. You can definitely see the effort the dev team in building out this world, and pushing the engine as hard as they could after being free from the ps3's shackles. As always definitely looking forward to your experiences moving forward! I think you'll be in quite the surprise in the next few patches, and how your theories hold up.

  6. In my opinion, Stormblood 4.0 moved away slightly from the “fantasy” and man vs fantasy villain element, into more man vs man and nation vs nation. So it’s quite natural that the perspectives are different. If you think about it, Most of Stormblood’s aim is gathering the forces and instigating revolution rather than trying to defeat the enemy with sheer power. I honestly think it’s quite a refreshing approach and applaud the dev team to go into a story direction they traditionally have less experience in.

  7. Shinryu fight was really hard back then, but it's good to see that you go in there in minimum ilevel. Not only Shinryu hit hard, the mechanics were unknown to many players back then. It is still the hardest end boss fight on all expansions so far, if you go in minimum ilevel and blind. It was such a mess when 8 people with minimum ilevel know nothing about the fight. 🙂

Some of the mechanics are not casted, but you have to see your environment and the wings of the Shinryu.

  8. I still think that while Stormbloods Story wasn't that strong it had probably the best Contend fight wise the Shinryu fight is a good telling how even normal fights can be quiet challenging even at the end of Stormblood and to some extend today i often see partys get wiped in Stormblood contend.
And in my personal taste the final duty of 4.5 is one of the best instances ingame. Not because of mechanics or how pretty it looks but by atmosphere (though 5.0 final duty comes close).
Look forward to future adventures Potato-chan new enemys awaits you

  9. Its true Stormblood wasn't as epic as say Heavensward, but it had its moments. Lord Hein is an inspiring figure. Gosetsu is a funny but noble heart of courage and even Fodola…oh wait that's dipping into spoiler territory which is a sacrilegious act. You'll have to find out for yourself Quazii 😀😀

The expansion lives in the shadow of both Shadowbringers and Heavensward yes, BUT it was not an ultimate fail. The liberation of Ala Mhigo was an incredible event.

  10. Btw, the song that they sang at the end of Stormblood is the true version of Ala Mhigo national anthem , which once modified by the Garlemald to be their national anthem. The purple flag is the Ala Mhigo nation flag.

Ala Mhigo is a nation that love war so much, even their national god of choice is the god of war, because of this fact their capability in large scale war is unmatched with other Eorzea nation. Ala Mhigo was the bottleneck of Garlemald invasion, it took Garlemald huge amount of resource to conquer Ala Mhigo, but when Garlemald success, they truly crushed everything about Ala Mhigo and even took their national anthem and turned their capital city into huge stronghold.

After the fall of Ala Mhigo, garlemald invasion was inevitable, but Midgardsommr saved the day and it was a huge blow for Garlemald that made them retreat back to Ala Mhigo.
